mistamista2000 Posted August 24, 2004 Share Posted August 24, 2004 Did a search and was not able to find an answer to my question...My '99 RX300 master key remote casing has completly broken apart, but the key still will get me in and start the engine. Is it possible that I could just order a new master key and have the old key swapped in the new casing, then have the remote programmed? mailrail Posted August 25, 2004 Share Posted August 25, 2004 You can buy used (already cut) keys on Ebay for around $25. They're on there constantly. I've never taken mine apart to see if the key comes loose from the remote part. But couldn't you buy an old used one and just replace the broken part (casing)? mistamista2000 Posted August 27, 2004 Author Share Posted August 27, 2004 Finally found a phillips screwdriver that fit the remote...The key is attatched to the remote side plastic. But the remote module inside is removable and that is what makes the vehicle start. So need to order a blank key and have it cut and swap the module with the new one.
