rwo1525 Posted August 24, 2004 Share Posted August 24, 2004 Hello! I am looking to buy a 1995 SC300, at, 81000 miles for $6200 asking price. I took it to a mechanic and i got a couple of problems with it. Rear differential leaks at the right side axle seal, the steering intermediate shaft has lateral play, and the rear main seal is seeping oil onto bell housing. The rear main seal is a big job to fix if it starts to leak more severely. There is also a code #54 when hooked up to a diagnostic computer ("traction pump cycles too often") Also the traction light goes on and off every once in a while on the instrument cluster. I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice or if they have had similar problems and what i should do. Overall, i love the car but i'm wondering if it is the right one for an 18 year old that doesn't have an unlimited bank account.
