  1. I had a similar problem. My stalling problem seems to have been fixed after I had my mechanic clean the throttle body. An easy fix if it works for you.
  2. There is a known problem with the Power Steering pump on this car. I have a 93 LS400 and had the Power Steering go at about 100k. You shouldn't leave it leaking as the leak may cause damage to the Alternator and make it go faster than it should. I had the Alternator go at 130k, but I've heard that's only because the leak with the Power Steering affected it as the Allternator is right under the PS pump.
  3. I have the same problem with my 93 LS400. I just got the car 9 months ago and have not noticed the problem until the winter came. Here are the details of the problem. It only occurs in the morning(I suppose its due to the long time that the car has been in the cold overnight), and only when the temperature is under 30 degrees F. Although most of the indicators on the panel don't come on, the high beam along with Drive, L1, and L2 do come on. Although the needles are not illuminated the temp gauge, the speedometer, and the tachometer needles do work, that is they move appropriately. The only gauge that does not work under this condition is the Fuel gauge. All the faulty indicators and gauges start working and illuminate after I drive and warm up the car for 10 - 15 minutes. Is this the kind of time frame you guys are seeing?
  4. At the time that I bought my 93 LS400 I did not notice it, I guess the rear speakers must be pretty good, but the front main speakers do not output any sound. The tweeters do, but not the main ones. I'm looking around to find replacement speakers, but before I buy the car speakers and set out to take the car apart I want to make sure it is the speakers that are problematic and not something else. Any ideas on this? Afterall, what are the chances that both front speakers blow? Thanks, Russ
  5. I was recently in need of replacing the rotors on my 93 LS400. I looked all over. The dealers price ranged from $160 to $200 per rotor, depending where you went. After market rotors go anywhere from $80 to $150 in the few auto parts web sites I visited and also at autozone, but they didn't have any in stock. I finally found a few web sites for the racing enthusiasts that offered slotted rotors with holes. I called them up and asked if they sell unslotted rotors and got two rear ones for $45 each. You can also get the slotted ones for slightly more, like $65 or $70 each. Here are the two web sites I looked at: http://www.raceconcepts.net/ and http://www.irotors.com/
  6. Thought I'd come back and post this since someone else may be having similar problems. My stalling problem seems to have been fixed after I had my mecahnic clean the throttle body.
  7. I just recently purchased a 1993 LS400. It has been stalling(dying) on me on average of once a week. It does start up right away. It happens only when I stop at a light or go slowly in a parking lot. Would appreciate any feedback on this. TIA, Russ
