ODBII CODE P1349 VVT SYSTEM MALFUNCTION BANK 1

According to what I've read on the web, I need to check the following: Valve timing, OCV/OCV Sensor, VVT controller, and ECM.

    My questions are:

How do I check valve timing?

    How do I check OCV?

How do I check OCV sensor?

    Where is VVT Controller?

How do I check VVT Controller?

    Where is ECM?

    How do I check ECM?

My car starting giving me problems after some really cold weather. Can any of the above cause a misfire or prevent my car from starting?

    I appreciate any info.. Thanks.

  2. OEM

Does anyone have the Toyota part number for 2nd gen (2001) GS300 so I can buy these at the local Toyota dealer vs the Lexus dealer (I'm assuming it will cost more there)?

The front pads are part # 04465-22312

The Rear pads are part # 04466-30161

They cost about $45 each set from irontoad.com.. the rear pads are tiny though so don't be shocked when you see them.

Whats going on Spawn? are these metallic or ceramic?

  3. Hello beautiful people,

I have a '98 GS400. The other day I was feeling adventerous and I took apart my console as well as the shifter cover just to check out whats going on in there. I disconnected the car lighter, ECT, VSC, and the 12v adapter. I put everything back together how it was,(so i thought) and now I can't shift into "D" or "L". On top of that, my key is locked in the ignition. Any idea of what it could be? Thanks for taking the time to read my post. I love you all very much.

  4. Hello,

I'm new to the forum and have been doing some searching regarding my ignition key being stuck in the switch cylinder. Clockwise movement beyond ACC to start and run the car is fine, but I can't turn the ignition past ACC Counterclockwise to remove the key, unless the battery is disconnected. I have read a few replies to similar problems and the most common remedy is to push the shifter hard into Park. Unfortunately I have done this already but it still won't turn. Does the system use input from the nuetral safety switch to determine that it is park, or is there a seperate sensor that indicates that it is ok to allow key removal? For either, is access obtained from inside through the shifter console, or from underneath the car? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

    Hi,

Did you ever fix your problem? I'm having the same issues. Any advice? Thanks.

  5. It's pretty easy and I think you'll need a 74type led bulb, just reuse the green plastic cap from the burnt out bulb.

Its the interior project #17. When i did it the other day I thought I was going to break something but a lil force properly directed goes a long way. Just pull the ashtray straight back and the rest is just as easy.

Wondering if you can help me out, since i see you've had a little exerience with this. I have a '98 GS400. I also wanted to replace my bulb. I took apart my console as well as the shifter cover. I disconnected the car lighter, ECT, VSC, and the 12v adapter. I put everything back but now I can't shift into "D" or "L". On top of that my key is locked in the ignition. Any idea of what it could be?
