  1. Hi guys i have a 99 model Lexus IS, and it seems that the heat from the headlights have gradually caused the plastics to yellow, is it possible to remove this in anyway?

is the plastic "melted" or just yellowed? On the inside or outside of unit?

    Its yellowed.

It seems like the plastics itself has yellowed, so its not so much inside or the outside of the unit

  2. If u r willing to take the time and effort to find the right parts it can be reasonable, but you have to factor in the cost of your effort i guess.

Pt to note is that the clutch pedal off most newer generation RWD toyotas will fit...i.e supra, soarer, chasers etc etc

  3. Thanks for your reply!!!

sorrie i took so long to respond

I am actually abt to embark on the project next month

Following your advice, i will not waste time looking at GS300 mounts or IS300 mounts, given the difficulty in predicting what fits the blocks.

The gearbox mount would prob be simply modified as well to suit.

With regard to the oil sump? what should i use? i was told that the supra sump is totally wrong, however i am unsure if:

    1. The IS300 2JZ GE sump will fit the 2JZ GTE block (it should) and if it will clear the crossmember.

    2. An Aristo Sump (2JZ GTE) will fit and clear the crossmember, or simply a GS300 (2JZ GE) sump would do

    3. Or is this just a myth and i have to go custom as well?

thank you so much for your advice at this crucial time.

Do you have a private email that i could discuss further with you?

    Mine is f1vtec@hotmail.com

    thanks

  4. Thanks for your reply!!

However i take it those were all the parts used are aimed at reaching your big horsepower goals. As i only wish to run a stock 2jz gte n stock turbos, i take it i will not need many of the aftermarket items u have included...

    If i could summarise:

    A 2jz gte engine n gearbox for course :)

Custom engine mounts (was told that GS300 mounts would fit perfectly and make the installation bolt on, is this true? esle custom mounts would be the way)

Custom rear gearbox crossmember ( was told that powerhouse racing managed to locate a factory toyota item that fits, but they r unwilling to disclose the exact model the cross member is sourced from)

Custom propshaft ( Shorter or Longer than the original item?)

    Relocated power steering fluid reservior

ECU (also read somewhere that post 98 supra engines/ecu will run the electronics in the IS quite perfectly, esle will need run something aftermarket)

Feel free to add any comments,

Thanks alot! i've been having alot of trouble digging up information on the above mentioned topic....

  5. see you at Gaydon then

    Greetings,

I am also looking at performing the 2jz conversion to my IS200.

I was wondering if you would mind listing the parts required to make it fit?

Off my head it would be:

Aristo Sump ( is the 2jz-gte aristo sump different from that of a supra?)

    GS300 engine mounts

Can the standard cross member still be used?

    Thanks
