  1. Picked up a new ES 350 Friday night. I wanted NAV, didn't want the spare tire or the HID.

Didn't have the extender seat or power sunshade I did want.

But, they gave me a deal I couldn't turn down. Took the 1.9% financing.

My grandfather waited 3 months for a special order. But I agree with the others, the salesman would rather get the cars he has off his lot and you could wind up paying less money for a car with more features than a lesser optioned "ordered car".

  2. Hello all. I am a new Lexus owner. Bought a 2000 Lexus GS300 off my brother at a huge discount as my college graduation present. It has 87,000 miles and I love it. Please do not be offended by my display name, I have owned my 1995 Camaro Z28 all through high school and college. I love working on cars, right when I got the car I changed the spark plugs and oil. I am excited to check out this site and ask questions when I need to.

Here is a pic: this is actually a pic five years ago when my brother first bought the car, but it is still in amazing condition, you can see my camaro in the back

Nice car! My parents n laws had a 2000 GS300 in the bronze color, I think it has the inline 3.0 V6? That was a smooth running engine and could not tell if the car was running when it was at idle.

  3. This general degredation in product quality is a real shame, what was once a rock solid brand synonomous with quality becomes tarnished as the company loses sight of what it once stood for. I don't think this is limited to cars either. The machine shop where I work has a number of Japanese machine tools, Mazak to be precise, who also have a name for high end, quality machines. However, we have had numerous problems of all kinds with the machines we have, one of which is made in the USA and the others in Japan, not something you expect from a product of this reputation and price bracket.

Funny you mention that, my old machine shop had CNC machines for 15 years with few problems. Once they traded those in for new Mori Seiki CNC control machines, we had nothing but problems with them.

  4. Hello, I am new to the forum and a first time lexus buyer. I am 40, have owned Toyota in the past and decided to step it up a notch. Test drove G37, TSX, Lexus IS 250,350, and Camry XLE V6 before buying my 2010 ES silver w/grey and brown wood interior with no nav.
