  1. Due to the nature of the GS, I too would suggest the Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S or even the Pilot Sport A/S Plus (although expensive) over the Goodyear Triple Treds.

I have a 06 GS430 and I bought the Pilot Sport A/S and I'm very happy with my purchase. I also filled them with nitrogen to improve the wear on them.

  2. I moved from a 1993 to 2000 LS. It seems like I am only getting 16 mpg on my newer car, where on my 1993 I was averaging 18-19 mpg. I think the weight and size of the cars is the same, With VVTi and 5 speed trany, I think I should be getting better gas mileage not worse . Anybody have any ideas or suggestions on what to check or do?

    Thanks JAYBE

I am selling my 2000 ls 400 and have owned in for 3 years. I put a KN filter in it, cleaned the throttle body and MAS run semi syn oil. At 65 mph without the ac I can get over 30 MPG on the highway. Around town maybe 20 mpg. Check your spark plus too and make sure they are gapped right. Also make sure you fluids are up to spec too. You should be fine after all that.

It may be the type of tire that you are using. I have a 06 gs430, when I purchased the car it had run flats on it. I did not like the ride but I was getting anywhere from 22-25 mpg. I went to pilots and I started getting around 20-21mpg. that may also be the case with you.

  3. Really? Mine charges the ipod and keeps the battery at full. I put the plug in the glove box and I just keep my ipod in there and forget about it. It turns itself on and off, and when I wanna take it out with me it's always fully charged. What interface do you have? I thought they all did that.

I agree, the one in my wife's ES350 does the same. The battery is never dead.

I have the I-simple and I was told by my installer to unhook it when I'm not using it. You could drain your car battery if it's already weak or burn up the ipod battery.

  4. I just bought the same tires at Costco for my 07 IS250 AWD. The Bridgestones had a bubble in one tire & I didn't want to risk it. Haven't driven it enough to judge the new tires, but they better be good at the price I paid.

I paid a fortune at Sam's Club so I'm banking these tires will last much longer than the Bridgestones based on what I read.

Agreed. They were not cheap, but they have a 45,000 mile tread life warranty. My guess is they will be good for more than 50k miles. I didn't want to buy a tire that didn't have a tread life warranty.

With a 45m warranty, I'm surprised the ride and road noise was not affected. I'm a new IS250 owner and am concerned with tire mileage. The car has 18" Bridgestone Turanza y rated, and i've been told to expect 12-15m miles from them. There is no hard driving with the car, dry sothern California weather. Any experiance with these tires?

I have a 2007 IS250. I've got Bridgestone Potenzas on mine and I've got ~23000 miles on them. I think I'll get 25-30K out of the tires. I am also in SoCal and I do not drive the car hard. I think you'll get more than 15K out of yours. BTW, how much were the Michelins at CostCo?

I just put the michelins on my gs430 and luv them. I just put nitrogen in the tires and the ride is better than before. It also helps as far as the keeping the tire wear even.

  5. The battery in my little key is nearly dead, and can barely send the signal to unlock/lock the car. The manual says to use a Lithium CR-1616 battery...but I can't find one of those anywhere! Somebody has certainly replaced their battery before on here? Any suggestions on what to use?

did u try radio shack? that's where i got mine from.

  6. My one touch function for my moonroof has stopped working, although I can still operate it by holding the buttons down until it is either open or closed or tilted. So it seems that the motor is fine. I think it stopped working automatically when I had to replace the car's 12V battery. I did what the manual said to reset it, and opened it manually and kept the open button pressed until it started to come down, but it still doesn't work by one touch. Anyone have any ideas short of taking it back to the dealer?

Also, what works best for removing fingerprints from the nav screen? It seems that apparently the oil from my fingertips left marks that can't be removed with just windex or interior detailer. I'm afraid to use any of the plastic polishes that I've seen because they all warn against using it for that purpose. Any ideas?

    Thanks a million...

I had the same problem with my moonroof. I unhooked the battery for about 20 mins and when I reconnected it, problem solved. As for the nav screen, I ordered a screen protector from lextasy.com It hasn't been delivered yet, but I'm looking forward to it.
