  1. Hi driverchris,

I have an 05 RX330 AWD in Australia that just may need the same replacement parts as yours. It has 123k on the clock (73k miles) and has trouble with wandering steering. Do you have any symptoms that would otherwise tell you that these parts require replacement??

Thanks for response. I'm not having any driving, braking or nose-dive issues. I think Goodyear is trying to get more money out of me as I made a warranty claim over tires and I got new ones.

  2. Hello,

I have a 2005 RX330, AWD without air suspension with 130 000 km(81k miles) on it. I had my tires rotated today and was informed by the technician that I needed to replace:

    4 struts and strut mounts

    strut bearings

    bushings

With 130 000km I can see that this probably needs to be done. But I'm not sure if I should replace the struts and mounts with Monroe Sensa Tracks, KYB or any other suggestions. Monroe Sensa Tracks come with a limited life time warranty. I could not locate any warranty info on KYB.

So I'm looking for suggestions and recommendations on struts, mounts, bearings and bushings. For bushings any experiences with urethane?

Finally, for replacing all of the struts, mounts, bearings, bushings and 4 wheel alignment how many hours of labour should I be looking to pay as DIY is not an option.

    Thanks in advance

  3. I wish the problem was cross-threading, but no. Still waiting for Mobile 1 to respond to my email.

    Hi

I use the M1-102 on both our RX330 and SC430, no issues here. Just changed the RX330 oil on Monday too. Sounds sort of fishy too me, did you try to thread it yourself? Sounds like the M1-102 was cross threaded.

    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problem. I purchased two Mobile 1 oil filters M1-102 from the States as they cannot be purchased in Canada. This is the filter Mobile 1 indicated was for my 05 RX330.

So I was at the Toyota dealer today for an oil change. However, to my dismay the Mobile 1 filter would only partially threaded. So the technician tried the other filter, and it did not work either. So at the end of the day a Toyota oil filter was put on.

I send an email to Mobile 1 from the dealership, still waiting for a response.

    Any suggestions?

  5. My tranny fluid was changed, my mechanic did not do the machine flush rather just ran new tranny fluid until it ran clear out the other end. Once that was done I decided upon using Royal Purple synthetic ATF fluid. No problems at all

  6. I always change at 10K. I have all RP products in my car, tranny, diff, transfer case, engine and coolant addictive. I have no complaints. I take my vehicle on very long trips every couple of months and I've never experienced any problems. I hope this helps,

    Chris

I have just began using Royal Purple after being on a blend for a while. Is 10K miles recommended between oil changes? Can you share your experience with the product? Thanks!
I have an 05 RX330 and I use Royal Purple or Mobile 1 synthetic oil and the synthetic oil filters. I change my oil every 10 000 kms or 6250 miles

  7. hi guys, i am not sure why but i always wanted to know why nobody has done a exhuast mod on the RX. i know it's not much use but to me i would like to know if it's possible to have dual exhaust like the FX on the RX. thanks guys!

I have an '05 rx330 and I was not happy with the fuel mileage and performance. So here is where the project began. I started off with the Weapon R intake kit. This helped a little bit. From there, I installed a custom exhaust system from the manifold back. Stainless steel system with Flowmaster cats, mufflers, and resonators. Its a dual exhaust system. The performance is great and about 80km(50miles) more per tank of fuel

  8. I currently own a 2005 RX330 with standard privacy glass on the rear passenger window and rear window. On a recent trip I noticed that I could easily look into the interior and see what valuable were inside. Needless to say I did not like this.

So I want to get the windows tinted. I would like to know if the 'privacy treatment' is a film added to the glass like getting an aftermarket tint job or the 'privacy treatment' is added into the glass mix.

    Thanks in advance,

    Chris

  9. Help needed.

I purchased a 2005 RX330(Canadian built not Japanese) in April of this year. I love my RX. I bought it with 80 000 kms and now it has 102 000 kms (60 000 miles). All scheduled maintenance has been done and all I use is premium fuel.

However, I’ve been having some trouble and need some help.

Since July 14th, my VSC and check engine light come on.

The code is P1074- bank 2 running too lean

This has happened a total of 5 times now.

Since the diagnosis, the problem has not been identified. On the third scan the fault code P1074 appeared as well as the code indicating the B2S2 sensor needed to be replaced. I watched the engine scan and I could clearly see that B2s2’s readings were very low. All of the other sensor on the scan tool were reading 1.0 to 1.1 while B2S2 was reading 0.61 to 0.7.

Upon seeing this, B2S2 was replaced with a genuine Toyota/Lexus sensor. However, the same day the sensor was replaced the P1074 code re-appeared. However a scan and diagnosis could once again could not the problem.

If I do not get the error code cleared, via the scanning tool- it would take 5 start-up and the check engine on VSC light would disappear.

Out of all of the 5 times in which the lights come on I have found the following situations:

The engine light comes on within 5 minutes of the engine being turned on. Two out of the 5 times, the light came on while in stop and go traffic. The other three times the light came on during acceleration onto the highways(Interstate).

Last night Lexus scanned the errors(P1074), they were not able to locate the source of problem, ie mass flow sensor, rad temperature sensors, and the rest of the other possible problems associated with the P1074 code . Also during the scan, all of the sensors were reading fine,

To this end, no one has the solution. Now I’m reaching out for people who may have experience this frustration and what was the solution. Or alternatively, problem solvers who could help me. I have a long road trip planned and this is not very comforting

  10. I would suggest, to eliminalte the problem of the Mass Flow Sensor. Its very easily removed form the intke cowling. Once you have it out, clean it then re-install it. Then you need to have the computer reset to see if the error code resets, if not the more expensive sensors might be the problem

    2001 RX 300

I have the CEL and VSC light light illuminated with the below codes showing up:

C0200- Right Front Wheel Speed Signal Fault

C1223- Fault in ABS Control System

C1224- Open/Short Circuit in NE Signal Circuit

    P1130- A/F Sensor Circuit Range/Performance B1-S1

I am planning to replace the ABS Speed Sensor to hopefully correct the first problem.

How do I know if I should replace the Air Fuel Ratio Sensor or the Oxygen Sensor to correct P1130? Based on reading some of the other forums, I should look into cleaning the Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF), but after that which direction do I go?

    Thanks!

  11. Thanks

    Chris

    Hello,

I'm looking for a place in Canada to purchase a B2S2 sensor from my 2005 lexus RX330 this is as a result of a P0174 fault code in which all other options have been eliminated. The dealer wants $468 plus installation. I'm looking for a better price. Any ideas?

I don't know about getting it in Canada, but you can get it from MyLexParts for $153 US. Here's the link.

  13. Hello,

The Canadian owner's manual states that every 16 000 kms the prop shaft needs to be lubricated. Can someone please provide instructions on how to do this, any tools required, and what products people are using. I would really like to avoid a visit to a Lexus Dealership.

Also, does anyone know if the 2005 RX330 has a timing belt or timing chain as the manual indicates the timing belt needs to be replaced at 144 000 kms

Thanks for everyone's assistance in advance,

Are you sure about the prop shaft lube requirement for the RX? In the US the RX shares a owners manual supplement with the LX-470. It states that the prop shaft lube is only for the LX-470 not the RX.

thanks for the advice the Canadian manual states the RX prop shaft needs to be lubricated. I guess I'll need to go to the dealer to sort this problem out. Since I bought my lexus used everytime I go into the dealership I get treated like a second-class citizen

  15. Hello,

I own a 2005 rx330 with 96000km I bought it used. I recently replaced the following fluids: rear diff, transfer case, transmission fluid brake fluid, and power steering fluid. Also I had the tires rotated.

Also when I purchased the vehicle in April, the dealership installed the Weapon R cold-air intake.

About ten minutes after picking up my vehicle, the VSC and engine light illuminated. So I returned, the check engine light, I cannot remember the code but the problem was the engine was running too lean. At that time the VSC and the engine light were reset.

Today, while my wife was driving the same two lights came on.

    Any ideas?

  16. Hello,

I was looking at the above site. They offer a performance chip for $80, and are making claims of either HP or MPG increase. This got me wondering...

Has anyone in any Lexus vehicle used this product and can offer realistic results. I don't care about what you've heard, or a friend of mine said they were a scam.

I'm looking for comments for people who have actually bought and used this in their Lexus

  17. Hello,

    I recently purchased my first Lexus-its a 2005 RX330 AWD.

I want to change all of the Toyota fluids with aftermarket synthetic fluids. I wanted to get people's opinions on what line I should use- OMSoil, Royal Purple or Mobile1. I want to change oil, transmission, differential, transfer cases, and power steering, and prop shaft grease. So suggestions please.

Next, I want to get some advice on aftermarket or TRD products for it, as I find it underpowered especially on hilly roads. I have already installed a Weapon R cold-air kit. Has anyone added a performance chip, if so what one? And advice on exhaust systems would also be greatly appreciated

    Thanks in advance your help,

    Chris
