We have had 3 used - 94, 98, and currently have a 2001 ES300 - great cars - but they are pricey to work on if you take to dealer. 90K is a big service, plus timing belt is probably due. If 90K, Timing belt, Trans flush / refill, and Throttle body cleaning has been done, I would not be afraid of the miles. If not - could be looking at $2,000 bill for service............

actually there are 3 cars that I am considering, all in the $12,500-$13,000 range, the ES330 with 96K, the Maxima with 67K, and a Volvo S60 2004 with 45K.

Indeed I expected bias in the answer Maxima vs Lexus, but I also expected details about what goes wrong after 100K. Apparent not much! Thanks for your help so far.

as the title says, I''m considering buying a 2004 ES330 with 96,000 miles. What problems can I expect? For a comparable price, I''m also considering a 2004 Maxima with about 65,000 miles. How would the reliability compare?
