  1. Hi all and sorry for this late reply. I went to our main dealer and they said that they have no such disks and they can't do anything about it. The customer service was too bad!! I wanted to complain to Lexus in Japan but unfortunately could find an address for them. I got frustrated and never came again here. Sorry to all of those who waited my reply. And thanks to all who took time replying and reading. Best regards to all,
  2. Thank you so much for this excellent info. I'll go to them tomorrow and will post the results here. Many thanks again,
  3. Thanks for the suggestion but I don't think it will work. I thought that you're talking about battery for the ECU. I have disconnected the ECU for more than 2 weeks but that doesn't help. The reason is that the update already written to its memory and I thought thta this what you meant. Thanks again,
  4. Hi and sorry for this very late reply. you could try ebay.com. A lot of systems are offered but don't buy directly. Keep watching the site for a month or two and you will get very good buy. I bought my 4th generation computer for $450 while it's sold as I write this posting for $1500 or so. good luck
  5. NavGuy: This is exactly my problem and buying the ECU costs more than $3000 which is too much. Jainla: That sounds fantastic but how can I dissconnection the battery? and where do I find it. I should try that. Thanks,
  6. Hi all and sorry for not replying immediately. I was away in vacation. Anyway, my car is US car and I'm back to my country. My country dvd didn't work on my computer so I kept the US dvd there and accordingly I'm always out of coverage. I'm expecting the GPS to be always on which is not the case. It goes on and off unexpectly! Thanks again,
  7. I don't have any repair discs. I have my computer set with the american map. Now I'm in my home country and my country dvd doesn't work with my car. So, I was asking if the repair discs (which i'm hearing about for the first time) would reset the map version. If it does, then I would request the to do that so my computer would have the dvd map of my country and will sort out my problem. Thanks for your interest.
  8. Hi, I have different problem but would those repair disks reset the DVD map version? Thanks,
  9. Any idea? thanks,
  10. Thanks for your reply. The problem he doesn't know if his computer is 2nd, 3rd or 4th generation and accordingly can't tell which one to buy. Any idea? Thanks again
  11. My freind bought his lexus but found that the navigation dvd was taken out. Is there a way to find what was the last update of his computer? He would like to buy some dvd's from ebay but he wanted to check if he could tell which one to buy! Any idea? Many thanks to all,
  12. Any idea guys?
  13. Same thing here. Thanks anyway.
  14. Hi all, I'm in place away of coverage. My system switchs sometimes to GPS mode and sometimes it doesn't. It just tell me that I'm outside the range of coverage! Is it possible to switch manually to GPS mode? How does the switch happens anyway? Thanks to all,
  15. Many thanks for your reply. My system is american system. Now i'm in my home country and would like to use my navigation system. The problem is that in my country the navigation system was introduced firstly less than two years ago. So the dealer himself dosn't know much about the system. I have the dvd of my country but it didn't work. I wanted to get an update dvd but wasn't sure this would work. Despite the two systems are 4th generation, i'm not sure that the update will fix the situation. As you know the update dvd will cause the old dvd to become unusable and it might not work as well. So I couldn't risk putting the update dvd and as I said the regular dvd didn't work. The dealer is not sure alos and he won't gurantee any damage the dvd will cause :( (not to mention that the dvd is sold for $650 I tried playing with the dvd files and interchange some form on to the other but I'm not successful yet. Someone, also said that he've heared that dvd of lexus works like movies (i.e. works with region codes ;) I don't know if this is correct and if it's how could I tell which code is my country dvd!!?? Thanks again for looking
