  1. looking in to buying a LS430 , I found one thats 2004 Ultra Luxury Black 34,000 mi. at a dealer . Is this price a little steep ?? Would you go with a 2006 with more mileage at the same price ?? Thanks for in put , debating on pulling the trigger.

  2. I know this sounds crazy , I am just looking into buying a new car and i am set on a 2004-05 LS430 but the BMW M5 2002-03 looks nice too, Has anybody in here owned both or has driven the two ? I know these are 2 different animals here but please tell me why i should not go M5 ?? I am wearing Nomex so flame on. Thanks

  3. I know there was a bump in HP. for the '04+ and some extra's , I have not had the chance to drive both yet , In the the market for a LS430 , How big of a difference is there between the two? Horse power/driving etc.. is it worth it to buy the '04 and up LS430 ? Thanks

  4. Hi, I had an LS430 2004 and sold it and regretted it, now I'm buying another LS430. I have a choice between 2 of them, one is an 04 with 42000 cypress pearl and another one 05 with 54000 silver, I like the silver paint a lot but is there any other differences?. Thanks.

Why did you sell in the 1st place , and why did you regret it ? what was so great about the 04 LS430 ??

I am asking because i am looking for one as well, just trying to make a little more cash before i pull the trigger but i seem to want something a little more wild like an older M3, M5 etc..but quickly come back to my senses (LS430).

I own several models of Lexus including LS460 model 2008. The LS430 has a completely different tast, it feels so well built and the materials used in it definately feels better than the new generation.

The reason I sold it was because of the economy situation as I was using it mainly for work, I travel alot. I sold it and I got a Prius 2010 to save on gas and I drove it for 524 miles and knew that there is no way I can put a 100'000 miles on it. So, lost a little bit of money and bought an LS430 model 2005 with 54000 miles on it over the weekend, it has the modern luxury and the sport package with a beautiful silver color.

I have never drove a LS430 yet but i know i want one, I just wanted to hear a owner talk about the LS430, so you like it better than the 460 ? wow because that a nice one as well. Thanks

  6. Looking for a 2004+ LS430, Do not want to spend 25-35 grand, I have found a few high mileage ones , 80-98000 on the clock for around 15-17 grand, I know the timing belt is up..and etc..Would this be a wise move ? or should i stack more money and wait for a lower mileage one to get in to.?? what would you do ? Opinions please..

I need Lexus luxury tired of old truck with no A.C.

  7. BMW is a great car , I was looking in to a 2002 M3 , throw on some rims lower it down a hit the canyons or go with the a new 530 with rims and lowered but then i thought wait a minute i would be getting tickets left and right and i have been thru the el camino , nissan 240 sx red top turbo pushing 300hp to the wheels stage already , Why not roll in class with some window tint and luxury , And the people that know will know you made the right choice. Plus its the smarter choice all the way around. safety, gas mileage, class, mechanics , price etc...I can't wait to buy my LS430.

  8. I recently upgraded the wheels on my 2001 LS430 from 16" wheels to 18" wheels...I did this because the chrome plating on my original wheels was flaking and I just happened to come across a good deal on OE 18" sport wheels on eBay so I made the switch. However, shortly after making the switch, I noticed my front end started going bad...when driving on the highway the ride on the car is fine, but whenever I hit a bump of any size the front end seems to hit very hard or clunk...almost as if the front shocks have gone bad. However, my LS430 has 130k miles so it may just be time to replace the shocks. I have a few questions:

Will changing wheels/tires from 16" to 18" cause my original shocks/front end to go bad? I thought as long as I kept the same wheel/tire diameter, all would be ok.

If I need to replace my struts, can I install struts made for the "sport" model with 18" wheels even though my car does not have the "sport" option?

Is there anything else that may be causing my front end to clunk very hard whenever I hit bumps on the road?

    Thanks for your help!

post some pics of your new set of rims ??, i want to see what 18 's look like on a LS 430

  9. There is a guy with an SC that posted a big complaint about getting the upgrade, to find out he is now blocked out from using the nav when the car in drive. If you can use the nav while you're moving now, then I wouldn't risk it.

Black is the badass color.. you did good.

  10. You're not a speed racer... lol

Wait till you get the LS B) She'll be begging, and begging, and one day you won't have the will power to say "NO!" and you'll put your foot so deep into that pedal, and open up a side of the LS that not many people know about ;) (just like your crazy ex-gf!) hahahahahaha

Yeah i am sure i will, It will just be on the down low, and while all eyes are on the STI's and honda's with those loud chrome exhausts .

  11. I am looking to upgrade from a 91 LS 400 to a LS 430...I just wanted to know what model year is the best to buy? As far as the MB E320, it's kinda old but MB has done some new upgrades to the car. But as far as that model year and based on specs, performance, customer satisfaction, etc. I would definitely get the LS 430.

Yeah the Lexus is the king in my book, They are built to last, perfection in a car. you get what you pay for.

  12. Thanks every one for the input, I am trying to scrape my coins together and make my purchase , I am going with the LS 430 , I am not a speed racer i am done with those days , I just wanted a few owner opinions , I have had a Audi A4 upgraded turbo/FMIC intercololer etc.., Nissan 240sx Turbo pushing 300hp , El camino 400 crate motor , headers etc..so i am done with tickets and racing around like an !Removed!. I just wanted some feed back because i don't want to test drive until i have the cash in hand. I was really pleased with the type of power the e320 had , so i am sure i will enjoy the LS430. Thanks

  13. I am looking in to making the jump to a 04 LS430 , my question is i have driven a 97 E320 Mercedes and i was happy with the kind of power it had but i have not yet had the chance to drive the Lexus , what is the power/ torque like in the LS 430 ?

Is it any thing like the E320 ? faster , slower , different ?? For those of you that have drove both whats your opinion ? Thanks,

    2004 Lexus LS430

    Engine Type: 4.3 Liter 32-valve V8 DOHC.

    Curb Weight:3,957

    Horsepower: 290 hp @ 5600 rpm

    Torque: 320 ft-lbs. @ 3400 rpm

Transmission: 5-Speed Electronically Controlled Transmission with Intelligence (ECT-i)

    0-60: 6.3 seconds

    Max Speed: 130 mph

    1997 Mercedes E320

Engine Type: 3.2 Liter 24-valve I6 DOHC, Variable Valve Timing

    Curb Weight: 3,605 lbs

    Horsepower: 217 hp @ 5500 rpm

    Torque: 232 ft-lbs. @ 3850 rpm

Transmission: 5-Speed Electronically Controlled Automatic Transmission

    0-60: ??? seconds

    Max Speed: ??? mph

I was unable to find Acceleration and Top Speed numbers for you, but I did find that the 1998 E320 that had 3.2L V-6 rather than 1997's I-6 had a "faster" 0-60 time of 6.9 seconds, faster meaning faster than the 97 I-6.

I feel you will be quite pleased with the power the LS will give you, especially when you look to pass someone ont he highway.

Thanks for the info. i just wondered if any one has owned both cars and could give me a review.

  16. The first model year for climate control seats was 2001 in the LS430 with the Ultra Luxury package: http://www.lexus.com/contact/pdf/2001/2001LSspecs.pdf

They climate control seats were also available in other LS430 option packages in later model years. Modify the year in both places in the above URL to see or look on the specs for 2002-up LS430's in the CPO model library: http://www.lexus.com/cpo/model_library/LS/2002.html

I don't have much experience with the LS430 climate control seats. Maybe someone who has them will provide comments.

Right on Thanks for the info.
