  1. Is it safe to download from bit torrent?

Could anyone help with the acquisition of a cd to update my Navigation system? We have a 2004 GX470 and the nav system is seriously out of date. It would be great if I could purchase an update at a discount price. Thank you for any help!

You can get one for free online through any Bit Torrent, i believe there is Version 7.1, the latest available.

  2. I just had my oil/filter changed, using Mobil 1, and a tire rotation (no balancing) at Desert Lexus in Cathedral City, CA; for $295, of which $200 was for labor. This seems excessive, what have you guys been paying?

    JOHN

Mobil 1 oil change and tire rotation only at my dealer cost $150. I think your dealer did your schedule maintenance too, which is inspect that and check this and that. Thats why the labor cost is so high.

My dealer in Phoenix quoted $80 for Balancing and Rotation, I told him it was a rip off. Went to Discount tire they offered $40 for Balancing and Roataion for life. I took that offer.

  3. I am now getting 20 in City with Costco Premium gas in Phoenix for over a month, yes in stop an go conditions not highway. :D :D :D

    Hi,

I woulke to start a thread to know what grade of gasoline you use and why? If that grade gives u the best mileage.

    I used 87 and got 14 mpg , with 91 I get 18.5 mpg

There is no way you can get that big of a difference in mileage lol.

It does sound like a big leap. But if the factory specs call for 91, then it's possible you could see a drop in mileage using 87.

In order to get a good comparison test, you'd have to carefully monitor the factors that can change A/F, gasoline/engine performance and use more than just a couple of tanks of fuel....

Was the gas used from the same brand and gas station?

Was the test route driven exactly the same with the same MPH under the same driving conditions?

Was the ambient air temp, RH, and barometric pressure the same?

Did you measure and start with the exact same amount of gas in your tank?

believe it or not proper tire inflation does increase mpg...

  4. You must be getting your mileage calculation from the happy meter (on-board computer). When I calculate it manually I average about 15.5 overall with 17.6 the best I have ever gotten. I drive 70-75 most of the time.
Dont know yet-Mine only has 100 miles on it:)

I guess you are correct. The happy meter gives 17.5 while actual calculations bases on fillups give 15.5 . Why cant Lexus make the happy meter accurate?

  5. Hello and Welcome to LOC! Good choice on the GX.

First off, I honestly am not familiar as to whether the rims are covered under the corrosion warranty. Secondly, I am amazed at your gas mileage figures. Lastly, yes those turn signal bulbs (aka DRLs also) bust easily, but so far both of mine havent busted a second time yet (both have busted at least once) so who knows.

If you have anymore questions, feel free to post them up! =)

I dont know why you are suprised my GX gives me 17.5 - 18 mpg in city.
