  1. Hey, What's up Lexus heads :D ! I just recently purchased a 09 IS250RWD and I want to lower it. And I was just wondering what type of lowering springs should I buy? I wanna have a good drop, comfortable ride and just a little stiff for those cornerings lol. So I just want to know your opinion on some lowering springs. Thanks in advance IS250 3rrol. :D

  2. Well let me start on just by saying thank you to the people that have given there little help, so thank you again. And as for the attitude I did that on purpose and the reason for that is because I posted the same question and all the people would do is just view it and leave no post and I have asked nicely. That's what made me post this post with an attitude cause I know I'll catch someones attention.

  3. First off, drop the attitude if you want any help from people around here. To help you, I have modified the title of this thread to lesson the bad first impression you have made.

To answer you question, it is always a good idea to disconnect the negative on your battery when doing any kind of substantial electrical work. What kind of intake did you get: K&N, Injen, ?? I assume you intake is outfitted with a new fitting or a work around for the current MAF sensor? If not, you will most likely set off some kind of trouble code when you get the car running. Also keep in mind, when you disconnect the negative you will lose all you presets in the radio, seat position and any other memory settings that may exist. The ECU will also revert back to the factory default settings and any "learned" characteristics of the ECU or tranny will be lost......only to have to be relearned again. This may not be a bad idea if you are the new owner of the car as the ECU and tranny will learn you style of driving.

As for anyone else that is reading this thread the original title was:

How About A Little Help To Install My Intake? A Little Help Is All I A, If you're not going to answer then *BLEEP*ing leave, Why waste you

  4. I'm trying to change my oil on an RX350, which has a lot of the same pieces as the IS250awd. I got all the way to getting to the oil filter case, and I can't get it off. In your description, you say "so you'll just need to open it like a door" however I have no idea what that means. No amount of twisting, turning, tapping or anything will losen it or get it open.

I have a socket wrench with a square head which I fits into the square hole. I realize that there are actually two pieces there, both of which I need to unscrew, but I was hoping to at least get one of them open. I'm not the strongest guy around, but even with the correct head in there, I turned it with enough to force to break the socket wrench, and the case still didn't come off.

Unfortunately, I had already dreained all the oil out of the car, and since I can't replace the filter, I had to replace all of the oil. So now when I do get the fitler replaced, they (or hopefully I, if I get a response here :) ) will just have to drain the oil again.

Please let me know if you have any tips for opening the oil filter case for the rx 350.

Just to clarify, I'm trying to get from the first picture below, to the second:

Good question. What I meant by the "opening a door" is the plastic undercover that comes with the car - the black part with IS4WD written on it, not the filter housing. My first oil change was on my dad's RX350 so I know exactly what you mean. I had no clue on how to open it so we just kind of used a hammer to to turn it a bit so we could spin it off. But what you really need to do is use the socket wrench and that black filter housing cup thing, from this picture.

They come in different sizes. When I bought it, I needed it for another car's "spin-on" oil filter and I expected it to work only on that car. But fortunately, it was the same size as both the IS and the RX. And the way I decided on the size was by secretly opening a new Mobil 1 filter, that fit on that car, and trying it on. I could measure it and give you the exact size of the thing if you want. Oh and it costs about 10 bucks at Walmart - where I got it.

Also, one more thing I would suggest is the extension arm for the socket wrench, like a 3-4" one. Because when you put the cup thing on with the socket wrench, it gets really hard to turn it.

So,this oil changes is also the same for a reg. RWD IS250
