I am going to be changing my battery very soon, and my friend told me to be careful because once i change my battery, my cd player and radio would not work anymore untill i punch in a special security code in the deck. Anyone know anything about this?
Does not apply to RX.
I changed my battery, drove to MI from FL. Then the new battery 'died' after two weeks in the cold (unused car - I was back in Miami), and a friend took the old battery to a dealer and bought a new one and installed it (a couple of hours during which the car was 'basttery-less' - and all works fine ==> no security code needed, but you must 'reset' clock, seat, etc.... Worry not.
thanks for the responses everyone, i spoke to a service rep at a lexus dealer near me and he told me that the security codes were not on any of their cars after 1998!

Hello everyone, i have a 2000 RX300 and my remote control is giving me a hard time. Everytime i want to lock or unlock my doors i have to either press the buttons hard or at least several times.
So i changed my battery, but the new battery doesnt work at all, and when i replace the old panasonic battery the buttons work again (with difficulty)
anyone know the problem? do i have to use a panasonic battery?

Hey everyone, i have a 2000 Lexus RX300 SUV and im using the stock deck.
I have a high/low converter that is wired like so
The black and red lines that run off are positive and negative that are spliced into one of my rear speakers, and G is the optional ground (The positive and negative of the left side is looped into the right side, this was done by an audio installation professional).
I have 2 12" subs in this exact box:
The 2 subs are Alpine 12" SWE-1243
250 rms
700 peak
and the amp is Alpine MRP-M500
Per channel into 2 ohms: 500W x 1 RMS
The 2 subs are connected in parallel to make them output at 2 ohms (if thats what connecting them in parallel does when they are 4 ohms)
with this whole setup, my system barely bumps, like nothing rattles, its just soft bass and its not too loud at all. My friend has a VW jetta with the stock deck and the same high/low converter and my amp and subs are both twice as powerful and his system pounds compared to mine.
I am very dissappointed with the output, any suggestions to make this system rlly pound?
