  1. It looks fine very much like the original chrome molding on ES '10.Bet you get a lot of compliments from other ES owners. How is it attached, is it clipped on to the top of existing molding or is it entirely new piece in place of the original one? What did it cost if you don't mind to share? Happy motoring...Raymond

It's just stuck on using red double-faced tape. Really easy to install. Price to Vancouver all-in approx. US$175. C U on the road!

That is not bad, considering that factory original once can cost 3 times as much.

Yes,it would be nice to see you.If you are out this way sometimes, my car is parked in the mornings apposite the Tim Horton on first ave. in Mission...

  3. I had this done to my 08 Ultra Luxury, but I took it to a good vinyl shop and had them shape chrome vinyl to the mouldings to simulate the '10 style. It turned out great and only cost about $150.

Do you have a picture? The mouldings I ordered from carid.com should arrive this week. Will post a picture once I have time to install them.

Here is a picture of my painted moulding on my '08 ES 350

  4. My car is 07 ES350 with ultra premium package, but the voice command climate control (e.g. raise temperature, warmer) had never been working for me. Some other voice functions work without any problem. I thought that is not a supported function until I came across TSIB EL008-06

    Title:

    VOICE COMMANDS FOR CLIMATE

    CONTROL ARE INOPERATIVE

    Models:

    ’07 ES 350

I talked to the service advisor but he is positive that it is not a supported function. He had confirmed with the sales person that voice command for climate control is new to 2010 models. Although the TSIB is pointing at 07 ES 350 specifically, the advisor believes that the TSIB is from US so that it might not apply to vehicles purchased in Canada.

    In my 2008 works fine...

Does anyone in Canada have voice command climate control working for 07 ES350?

    Thanks!

  5. Does anyone know if I can add the attractive chrome lower door mouldings on the 2010 ES350s to my 2008? These mouldings are not listed on the regular list of factory options. Are there any after-market products available out there (esp. in Canada)?

welcome to this fine club bcES350. I too am interested in adding the attractive bottom door molding to my 2008 ES, as seen on the new 2010 ES.Have done some research into this matter and came up with nothing concrete.I have talked to the parts Manager at Port Moody Lexus, he said that the 2010 molding would not fit onto 2008, because of the difference in shape of the clip on part. According to him, there is just no way to get chrome molding for our year model. I have also got an estimate on the cost of chroming the existing painted molding. Yes, it is a very expensive proposition---roughly $600. Too much for me but I am still in the process of finding somebody to do it for less.I will post the findings as it happens. I hope you are enjoying your beauty as much as I am loving mine. I purchased my at Jim Pattison in North Vancouver...

By the way, after a long search around I decided to have the existing molding painted in sort of a silvery colour to match the wheels. My neighbor, who is in the autobody painting business, has done that and it turned out to be a perfect match to the wheels. Looking at it from a short distance,it looks just like the rest of the chrome mouldings. I am very happy with the outcome and the cost was only a fraction of any other methods.

At the same time I had the Sirius sat.radio integration done, also at half the dealers cost. Diamond Radio in Maple Ridge has done a very good job...

The parts manager at Regency Lexus in Vancouver got back to me today. He says that the integrated chrome panels are available, but very expensive at approx. $200 per door. I will check again with Northshore Lexus when I take the car in for my next service. To pay $1,000 or so, including tax, for this upgrade is a little too rich for my blood. Found these chrome mouldings at http://www.carid.com/product.php?productid=73114&cat=41021&page=1 on the web. Price is reasonable, but there are some disturbing posts on their web from customers who have made purchases but never received delivery. Has anyone in this forum done business before with this "carid.com" outfit?

Interesting find on carid.com. I wonder if the price is per 1 molding, per door or for entire car?

  8. Use Sunoco Ultra 94.....it's the best in Canada. ;) Especially now that it's less than $0.90 a litre....at least in these parts.

    Hi there LEXUSFREAK,

I don't know for sure but I don't think we have SUNOCO in this part of Canada. I usually fill-up with premium at the Superstore.

I am not really sure about the quality of their gas but it seem to do no harm to my vehicle.

Other brands here are; Chevron (which I use when getting gas across the border), Shell, Petro Can., Husky.

Would you recommend any of the above?.

  9. I don't get my Lexus for 2 weeks, hte indicated premium fuel is recommended

    Our regual is 87 ,Mid-grade - 89 , Premium - 91

My Audi can use mid grade what does the Lexus manual say for fuel, and what would you guys recommend?

Thanks for the knowlegable responses to my other posts

Don't even think to use anything less than premium 91 octane! It is a premium automobil and as such, deserves the best.

Lexus recommends premium gas for a good reason.

Good luck with your new car, you will enjoy it when you get it in 2 weeks...What color will it be?

  10. Welcome

I also have a 2008 Smokey Granite (great color); and with a spoiler, but with the black interior and mesh grille. In Ohio, the pale gray carpet will get too dirty. And I love the look of the black interior.

Your car is so clean; I'm jealous. Here now, all cars are dingy with road salt.

I am getting the feeling that this SGM is a popular color for this popular car model. And right so, it is a classy and clean looking color (forget the 'clean' part for now).

OH-Guy, you are not alone with a dingy looking car this time of the year, even here in the Northwest. Where the rain would normally keep it reasonably clean, this year with all the snow on the ground and all the added sand and salt, my car looks just like yours. Drt-eeee!

    Cheer-up!

  11. Obviously you were looking for more comfortable, quieter and smoother ride than the IS, 3 series and other alike, could offer. I too, although being a couple of years older than you, have researched into more sportier models before have settled for this most me suited automobil. Have previously owned 2006 Subaru Outback which I also liked. Traded it in for ES350 in August. Already over 11000 km (9000miles) on it. Love driving it as much and often as I can.

    Truly a great car.

  12. PEG460, I totally agree with you, in Winnipeg in winter months, one sure can fully appreciate the heavy well fitted good quality rubber mats.

I lived in Winnipeg (actually in East St Paul) for many many years and therefore know how hard it would be to keep the vehicle dry and clean inside and out in winter, without them.

I now live on the coast in BC where the weather conditions are a little better, but still, the dealer supplied all weather rubber mats come in handy in this wet winter months.

Hope your wife still enjoys her es 350 and you the ultimate ls 460. I surely love my es 350

    Raymond.
