  1. I need to replace the battery now! But I saw the sign on my lexus factory battery that shows me 84 month warranty. Should I drive xx miles to Lexus dealership and ask them replace it for free? I only can reach Toyata dealership in my local area. What is the best way to do it? Thanks for all suggestions!

  2. Did you change spark plugs after you ran seafoam through the intake?

I ran Seafoam through the intake (definitely not in the oil) on my '99 RX300 (114K miles) with no problems. It ran nice and clean after I burned off all the initial smoke. I ran Seafoam through our 1995 ES300 (135K) intake and all hell broke loose... it loosened up what ever crud was sealing up the engine and it smoked profusely from there on.

After that, I read on the bottle it said it's not for engines over 100K miles (whoops). Overall, it does a great job of cleaning up the engine... put I think it's pretty rough on the engine. Again, if you use it, I would recommend only using it for the intake (you suck it up through the brake booster hose) and not in the oil.

  3. Do the Personalized Settings in this url apply http://www.lexus.com/pdf/service/RX350_LPS.pdf ? As on the Lexus website it says 2005 and up RX 330 I am getting a 2004 manufactured on 11/2003 in Canada. If not what settings do apply? Does anyone know where I can find a manual on for the 2004 RX 330 on the internet? Thanks

I have the Lexus RX330 version of the Personalized Settings in .PDF format. I could not attach it to this post because the file is larger then 100K. Let me know where you would like me to email it.

    Can I get a copy. Email: runningshao@hotmail.com

    Thanks!

  4. Did anybody do that before? Seafoam is supposed to burn the carbon which build up in engine and clean fuel system. I wonder if this strong stuff could hurt any part or sensor? I don't want my check engine light on after I have done that. And also any suggested thing I need to work after seafoaming, like change oil, filter? Thanks for your replies.

  5. So you think only one time drain and fill every 30,000 miles is enough. filter and gasket is not necessary?

Yep, do a drain-and-fill. Stick with Toyota Type T-IV ATF to protect your rights in the event of a failure down the road. You'll need at least 4 quarts, but some vehicles will be a little thirstier and will want 4.5. So buy 5 quarts at your nearest Toyota parts department. Repeat every 30,000 miles. Drive it like a station wagon, not an Indy car, and you should be fine....
  6. I recently purchased a 2004 RX330 with 65k miles on it. Since I have no idea with when the previous owner did transmission service, I decide to do it before the powertrain warranty expired. Right now 68xxx miles on it. So the work need to be done as soon as possible. The current color of transmission fluid is light red with normal smell. I am very concerned with what kind of transmission service I should go(Drain and refill or complete fluid replacement?). Sometimes the transmission service will make it go bad. My transmission is in a good condition now, I don't want to mess it up. So any suggetion for me is greatly appreciated.

  7. I dont know why I didnt join this forum sooner. This noise has been driving me crazy, sorry so many many people have to be dealing with this problem but it good to know others are feeling my pain. I thought I was the only one, like my RX was posessed or something. I will definetley be giving the servo-cleaning a shot this weekend. I appriciate all the help, wish me luck!! :(

Could you post out how you did?

  8. BTW how to reset the light? Thanks!

    Hi,

At my last oil change, I reset the reminders for the oil change and filter. When the mileage was close to what I set it for, I started getting a reminder to conatct the dealership for the oil change. Then right aorund the time the oil change was du, the Maintenance reqired light in the guage panel also came on. I know how to reset the light, but want to know if this is a sort of 2nd reminder t ochange the oil, or did it come on for some other reason. BTW I have @ 27500 miles on my 2006 RX330.

    Thanks.
