  1. It's not an easy project. Some professional installers even do a not so good job. I'd suggest going to one of the manufacturer's sites and find an authorized installer in your area. That way the job and the material should be guaranteed.

The rule of thumb for a dealer job (which is mostly outsourced anyways, with a markup) is that the first run is half-assed. Then you complain and the second run is much better. I agree that even authorized installers don't do a good job. I had to send mine back to fix areas that were bubbling up, and they dinged my car in the process :cries:

  2. Well, it took just over 4 months to come in, but now that they're on, it seems so worth the wait. i just put them on last night, so I snapped a few pics this morning to post them up. After a bit I'll do a full detail and take some really good pics and post them in the Show and Shine forum later. But here's a few for now:

What's the spec on the wheels and tires? I can't seem to find the minimum recommended offset anywhere... Do you know what they are or where I can get it?

Love the tint by the way. I wish I can do the same on mine, but I just know some cop will make me take it off someday

  3. Anyone purchasing a 2009 IS250? If so, please tell me how much you got it for with options. I was quoted $33,500 (Not including taxes and fees) for RWD Premium Package with Navigation. Thanks

We recently looked at the last 08's as well as 09's, with the same packages. The number you got is about the same as what we would have gotten a 09 for. But we went with the 08 as it was still cheaper than that, obviously.

  4. Everything about my new car I love however there is this squeeking noise that seems to be coming from behind the rear seats whenever I hit or driver over any kind of bumps. Has anyone else had this problem? If so what is it cause it doesnt happen all the time and I want to get it fixed but I dont know what to tell them to fix.:whistles:

I also had a squeaking noise, but from the sunroof. The dealer stressed to me that the sound must be reproduced before they know what to do. So i took a 30 min test drive with one of the techs and finally managed to reproduce it going through some bumps. After that they took care of it and I never heard it again.

  5. For a while, I've been planning to buy a Lexus as my new car, but the decision was hastened when my camry was totalled yesterday :-) (no injuries.)

Here are the decisions are grappling with, and would love to hear opinions on them:

    - I generally like AWD for safety, but I would have to order them from outside my region since Lexus doesn't stock dealers with 250AWD in Northern California. Also, I'm very curious why they don't make the 350AWD... that's what I would choose if it existed. I'm trying to decide whether I should just go with the RWD and get the 350 since there are so many to choose from here (and probably would save me money.)

    - Does the 250AWD lack power? (I haven't been able to test drive it... would testing a 250RWD be equivalent?)

    - How do folks here like the bluetooth integration? Is it working well for them?

    - In this economic downturn, any tips on getting the best deal? How much under invoice should I expect to get?

    - Anything you veterans found out about your IS that you wish you would have known before buying it?

    thanks!

    Phil

I agree with HSK. But here are my 2 cents. I also went with the 350, having tested all 3 models. The 250RWD and AWD isn't a lot of difference, and it isn't necessarily safer. You should definately testdrive both models. I personally like the 350 for the better power, but my gf went with the 250 for the right package and the lower price. You can definately get any remaining 08's for lower then invoice and the new 09's for under MSRP. I purchased my 350 at Pleasanton Lexus, and I would definately recommend visiting them for comparison.

  6. Hi Everyone,

I am new to this forum, I've recently purchased a 2006 IS350 black/black, with the works. I felt that a fully loaded 06 was a better deal than a brand new one, given that the previous owned took very good care of it. I just wanted to say that so far I am very impressed with the car like most of you. I've been a manual tranny driver for almost 10 years, and this is the car that pried me away from it.
