  1. First, open the glove box door and press the little button to RE enable that trunk release. That will keep the unmentioned one from standing on the button.

Take any screws out of the panel you can see. Look for little plastic covers, pry them off to access any screws. Then, (on a hot day) pry off the door panel, starting at the bottom. Pry it open a little to see what you're up against, then continue on. It will come off, but you will likely break one or more of the clips, so be ready to buy more. The top hooks down over the edge behind the window. It may help to roll the window down before you start.

    Good luck!

Thanks very much for the reply!

(I think I'll investigate buying clips before I attempt to do any damage. I found a few pictorial howtos for various models on this site after I posted this message... If you have a pointer for where to pick up clips, let me know. Thx!)

  2. Okay, here's one I haven't seen yet online... I have a 92 es300. Someone in my household (I won't name her as she'll probably stumble upon this post one day) pushed the trunk/fuel button on the driver's side door so hard that it actually broke and fell into the door itself. (She said that the trunk button wasn't working, so she kept pressing harder.)

I managed to find a post about the manual fuel door release in the trunk (a major relief). But I'm trying to find instructions for how to actually get the door panel off and get in there to see what's down that rabbit hole... I imagine I might also need a pointer for any replacement parts I might need to procure to get things working again.

Any help from you folks out there on the internets would be most appreciated. Thanks!
