  1. Hi everyone,

I had a basic Sirius radio installed in my 2002 RX300. A few weeks later I bought a better radio to replace the original one that was installed by Circuit City and found out the power plug doesn't fit.

I cut the plug from the power adapter that came with the new radio and soldered it to the wire that was run internally (i.e. I replaced the power plug) but the radio won't turn on. I suspect they have different power requirements.

Power adapter run through the dashboard:

Closer look at the new radio; You can see the old radio power wire cut in the back of the wires.

My question is how do I supply the correct amount of power to the new radio? I was thinking to open the cig-lighter and connect it to the power line inside the dash-board but I don't know where to start.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

are you sure you connected power to power and ground to ground b/c if you connect power to ground its not gonna work. use a volt meter with the key on and see which wire has power.

  2. Has anyone ever put a 5spd manual from a solara v6 or camry v6 5spd into an ES300?

    Is this feasable?

you can definately put a manual into a es300 but you will have to modify alot. including buying a manual trans ecu and wiring harness clutch and brake pedal new flywheel disk and pressure plate clutch slave cylinder shifter and shifter linkage and new center console to make it look good. it'll get expensive real quick.

  3. Hey fellow members,

Need your help input on this dilemma please.

I have a 96 Lexus LS400 with the old key and a fob remote. I was hoping to get a newer model key with the built in remote, and have it cut to use with my 96 LS400.

    NOWWWW...

    Is it even possible?

If I buy a new key from Lexus, can I program its remote with my fob remote and have the key cut so it'll work with my car?

Arggh... hope I am making sense.

Please provide any info you can.

    Regards,

    -AM.

hey i work for lexus and you can buy a new style key have it cut to work with/start your vechicle but the buttons wont work. (lock, unlock, trunk release)

    does that answer your question?
