Good morning family,

My headlights haven't switched on when I hit the switch and I'm not sure where the problem is coming from. I checked the fuse box under the hood and I check the bulbs, all of which look fine. Any suggestions!!!!? :cries: :)

Just bought a 1992 SC400 w/ 159k for $5,000 through ebay. This will be my project/fun car while I drive my '00 RX300. Been pouring money into it ever since trying to get it to where I want it. Here's the list.

Problems:

Excessive road noise - replaced transmission mount and drive shaft bushings and some shifter parts

Electrical problem - dim lights and radio would shut off when brakes applied (fairly common). Replaced negative battery cable, installed new battery and a grounding kit

Gauge needles-will be sending to Lextech for new needles and backlight

leather seats-replaced w/ seats from 97 SC400 (RIP)

Oil leak - Crank seal went, had to replace timing belt (again)

trunk support struts replaced

yellowed headlights-cleaned and polished :D

Maintenance:

Oil change, transmission fluid change (Type T-IV of course), NGK Iridium plugs, wires, caps/rotors, fuel filter

Mods/upgrades:

18" HPRacing HPR5's w/ 245/45/18 tires

replaced K&N cone filter kit with BFI (definitely the way to go)

Kenwood double din CD/Tape Headunit upgrade w/ 1/2 din storage tray for filler

Brushed aluminum dash kit

Any tips on what I need to do to replace the unit or do you think it's not going to take replacing the entire unit?

My first guess would be alternator or battery. Does your fuel tank have any petrol in it?

You hit it right on the nose. That's why I just love my Lexus family!! I got it fixed and we're turning a corner in love (SC300)

:cries: Please help me Lexus family. My car, for the first time ever, just shut down as I was driving it. She's a beautiful 92 SC300 5 speed and she's breaking my heart. I feel like a gilted lover. Can anyone tell me why she's trying to leave me?

I'VE GOT A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH MY CAR ALARM GOING OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WITHOUT ANYBODY OR ANYTHING NEAR IT. QUITE SIMPLY, IT JUST GOES ON ALL ON IT'S OWN. HAS ANYBODY ELSE EVER HAD THIS PROBLEM, AND IF SO, CAN YOU TELL ME HOW TO FIX THIS WITHOUT REPLACING THE ENTIRE ALARM SYSTEM?

It sounds to me like, if the Dealer is correct, that a recharge won't work, and indeed you'll have to replace the clutch.

Any suggestions on how I get the new blue looking headlights, or is it even possible?

...still looking for some help folks. I don't know which fuse is for the A/C unit and lighter and it's gettin' hot here in Marietta, GA. :cries:

Thank you all! I think it's the cigarette lighter. I dropped a magnetic pen in the lighter reservior by accident and it didn't work after that. Do I just replace the fuse for the cigarette lighter from the fuse box under the hood?

Actually, it never leaked, at least as far as I know. I was driving down the street when it simply would not start, no air, no indication that it even has air. When I press the button for the A/C control, it does nothing whatsoever. It almost appears to have been disconnected or shorted out or something. If it's a fuse, I'm not sure where or what to check, because there seems to be no fuse for the A/C. please help!! :)

Please help me. My AC Unit simply doesn't work in my 1993 Lexus SC300. It runs great otherwise, but does anyone have any quick remedies besides replacing the entire unit. Please help
