  1. I kind of have the same issue but am at more of a loss. I want to upgrade by maps and have not done so since i started the lease. The current dvd is W41 data ver4.2. I would like to get the most recent maps and it would be very nice t0

    1) hit "I agree" every time and just let it start up. and 2

    2) be enable to enter in addresses while the car is moving (i assume this is overrideing the lockout.

Also, mentioned was the VAIS Soundlinq SL2i has a neat little feature that enables you to skip the "I agree" button on the nav system when the car starts up. what is that??

I went to Lexus and get them install an iPod adapter for me today. I'm happy to tell you that they installed VAIS Soundlinq SL2i. SL2i overwrites "i agree" screen after 5 second but does not enables destination entry screen while driving.

I have 2004 ES 300 with navigation, 6CD changer, iPod Touch & the latest Nav DVD

  2. It just occurred to me that I haven't emptied the tank fully yet. I've been filling up around half tank so i really don't know my actual mile/per tank. Questions:

    - How do you reset the computer?

    - what's your estimated range reading on full tank?

    - what's the difference between two average mpg readings then?

    - Hold down the 'disp' button on the steering wheel for a few seconds to reset (you have to change to the other screens & do the same).

    - I'm in Canada....so my range after fill up says 515 - 525 km's usually (320 - 325 miles) which is still not correct.

    - One is 'instant' MPG & the other is 'overall' MPG since you last reset it.

Take some time & read through the owners manual cover to cover.....you would be suprised what's in there (have you found the feature that you can open all windows & the sunroof without even getting in the car yet?) ;)

Mine has only Mode and Reset buttons on steering wheel, based on user manual range resets only when I re-fuel. BTW: the second AVG was MPH not MPG, anyhow i read/thought both were avg MPG, my mistake.

  3. I purchased a 2004 ES330 about 2 moths ago. It's a great car and I'm really happy about it.

One thing started to bother me: discrepancy between average MPG (19-28) and estimated range (295 mi on full tank) numbers on the dashboard. First of all display shows 2 average range numbers, I believe one is for city other is highway, please correct me if I'm wrong. If I'm making 19 MPG then I should get at least 330 mile (on 17.5 gal). Assume that my combined MPG is 24, then i should see 400+ but I don't. BTW: I use 87 octane from Costco. I believe 87 should be fine, am I wrong?

Could you please post your "estimated range" readings and type of fuel that you use?
