Does anyone know if there is a plug under the dash to plug a remote start into to save having to splice wires. I understand that other vehicles have them - 24 pin plugs in Subaru Outback 2008 & Mazda Speed 6. I want to be able to keep warmer this winter.
Thanks

nothing is a plug and play for a Lexus

Going to pick up my 2006 GS300 CPO car this coming Saturday. I had asked about a remote starter and they told me they install them for $995.00
I told them that I searched this forum and some of the old replies was that it was not possible.
They told me that was not true and they can install one.
Has anyone had one installed and can you comment on it as far as price?
Also, I read somewhere here that they have to use one of the two keyfobs and leave hidden in the vehicle and that it drains the battery in the keyfob since it is is always transmitting, is that true ?
Thanks
I will be curious to see how they bypass the requirement that the brake pedal be pressed in order to start a vehicle using smart key/push button start technology.

They can be done, without loosing a key, I've personally done a ton of them with no issues

So I was just wondering if anyone has one and is using it and maybe had any issues, or advice. It looks like you can set it up several different ways with the emulation programming. I compared this one to the Lexus OEM version, Dice electronics, Navtool, and there was another one also but I can't think of the name right now.
So which one do you have and how do you like it?
I've installed tons of them, they work great, i program them to mp3 mode. which is left dipswitch down right up for programming, and both up after

Every fall i talk about getting remote starters put in the cars but for some reason the idea never seems to get executed. My daughter insists we put one in the Rx300 since she's going away to school and the cold winters here are a killer.
I researched the forum and have found controversial opinions about remote starter brands and places to have it done. As of today, what is the best way to go?
I have heard the name "Audiovox" which seems to be a No-No
Also, clifford or viper?
I just want a simple remote where i can press a button and the car turns on. When i want to enter the car, i want to be able to press the unlock button on the Lexus remote that will unlock the doors normally, get in, put the key in and drive off.
some have mentioned that the only way to unlock the doors with a remote start is to turn the car off first?? how can i achieve the situation above?
Opinions and suggestions please! Thanks
you will not be able to use the factory remote after the car is started, the car shuts down the system that controls door locks.
i install them all day long and use an aftermarket unit and never had complaints

I've been around long enouph to know that with enouph money anything can be done. The question is how much? And have all the obstacles been dealt with? Or is there some issues that are just "Jerry Rigged" to work?Like once the car is started via the remote, does the car shut off when I open the door? Do I have to shut the car off and restart the car with the start button now? Will the car run with out the key fob? The car stays locked? Do you now have to use another remote to unlock/lock the car? the keyless fob doesn't interfere at all? what remote start system are you using? Do you have to bypass the stock security system?
none of that stuff happens, no need to restart the car, can shut it down via remote, but you will have to use another remote for the keyless entry, but if you install a full featured remote start you'll have it all on one remote

Remote starts can mostly def be installed in all the Lexus Push Start cars. I have personally done well over 100 of them in all the models.
Anyone who tells you they can't be done doesn't want to do the work.... I sure as hell would love to do them...
He's right, it can be done... they just don't feel like, or don't know how to do it.... I'd be glad to refer you to my installer for anyone in the NYC/Long Island area that wants it done.
i'm in northern NJ and I'll do them all day on the side if I could.....

You can also use the heated seats. They are a boon on cold winter mornings!
My heated seats have never been very warm, compared to other cars we've owned. And that's both IS's I've had.
ReallY? Anything higher than 3 and my butt burns!
Remote starters CAN be installed in IS250's, I have personally put in over 100 of them, and I can do so WITHOUT you loosing a key
