  1. it is in your manual. It explains it very easily. But for some reason, you will feel like they need to be adjusted up....more on the road. But mine are the same as yours.....and I cant get them up enough either. I am stopping at the lexus of north hills dealer on wednesday, I will ask them...

I too wanted my lights pointing up higher on the road but it was explained to me that the lights on the GS were automatically adjusted by the car. I forget the the acronym they used but the car's lights will swivel into the direction you are turning. You can turn it off on the control pad on your left but the tech gave me the impression the GS won't let you manually adjust.

  2. Long story short, I got into my car and and it would barely turn over. I went straight to Oreilly's to have my battery checked and he said the battery was fine and that all things pointed to me having a bad alternator. I have an appointment scheduled with my mechanic and they are going to tell me for sure what's up with my car. I have 108K miles on it. Assuming it's just a new alternator I need and nothing else, anyone have an idea of what kind of estimate I'll be getting? First my golf game leaves me and now my alternator decides to die. What's next?

In case anyone is interested, it turns out it was a bad battery. The only thing now is my passenger windows won't roll down. I called them back to see what was up and they apologized for not resetting them. Apparently you have to go to each door and roll each window down a few inches then roll back up and hold for a few seconds. I've tried that with no luck.

  4. I think the rotors are totally different on the 07 and 08 from the 06s.

Let me know how you like the ceramics, as I will be doing brakes in about 10k miles.

    steviej.

Im about 7k mi deep on the Ake ceramics..and I gotta say im pretty thrilled with them. NO DUST, great stopping power ( ive had two emergency stops in them already avoiding FL drivers!) and they are totally noise free. Def recomend them if you are looking for pads Steve!

My GS300 is in the shop for recall work and they said my front pads need to be replaced for $300. I've always changed my own pads on my cars with no problems (98 Diamante and 2004 Volvo S80) and when he said $300 I figured it can't be that hard to place them. He mentioned some pin that that is causing my inside pad to wear faster than the outside pad. Should I go ahead and pull the trigger or should I save the money and do it myself? My dad and I handy with these kind of things so I figured I could save the money. Have any of you changed your own?

I checked out the www.scottwax.com site and it looks pretty slick. If you have a limited budget or you are in a pinch, check out

    http://www.rubberduckycarwash.com/express.htm

The site looks kind of silly but it's the only place I know where they only wash by hand. They only use the microfiber towels and they don't have brushes of any kind. They have a location in Richardson and West Dallas. I take my car and the wife's Volvo all the time.

  6. I know you cant watch dvds without the hack but has anyone tried playing music dvds while driving... do you know if you can listen to the music without seeing the picture or will it not play at all? still waiting for my car to come in thats why i havent checked myself.. just curious cause i was hoping to be be able to listen to the better quality sound of a dvd

What would one need to do to hack the system in order to watch DVDs on road trips?

Is there a section on hacks that I'm not aware of? I'm about to drive to the inlaws and was hoping my nav could enable us to watch movies.

  7. How was the installation? Pretty easy? Sounds like a cool device. Let us know.

I put the DICE unit in my GS300 last summer. Install was a breeze. Follow the well-known directions on this forum to take the radio out. Once it's out the connectors on the DICE unit plug right in, and then put it all back. Pretty straight forward.

I ended up putting the actual DICE "box" in the glove compartment (allowing me to easily run the cable behind the dash). I keep the iPod plugged in and put that in the glove compartment too - out of sight. This way, I can use the steering wheel or touch screen controls to navigate my music, and if I need do, the cable is long enough that I can get the iPod out of the glove compartment and use that too.

How much did it cost? Can you post some pics?
