  1. ok, well i broke the plastic scews or gromets that attach to the door lock actuator. these are the cables that attach to the door panel, and to the lock and handle. The new replacement is $239.99 and around $219.99 online. I have looked at the local yards and they will only sell me a complete door for around $450.00.. well SOL. anyone know an easier fix. sure don't want to spends hundreds on a piece of plastic.

I copied this pic from another thread. these are the white and black clips attached to the cables.

  2. yeah i had this kind of problems before mine came from the glove compartment something was stuck in the cabin air filter a piece of tissue rubbing against the fan motor. there is a cover at the back of the glove compartment and when you remove the cover you have access to the filter. good luck!

99 GS300. i'm hearing this popping sound behind the dash. i've read several posts about this, but most of these posts were attributed to things rubbing on each other. This doesn't sound like that. It sounds like a motor trying to rotate and it hits a hard stop or somehting similar. This sound comes from behind the dashboard. What's behind the dash that could be making the "popping" sound?

  4. okay here its is I broke the plastic gromets on the cables on the door lock acutator. Its attached to the inner door panel. If anyone has removed their door panel and not careful you will break these gromets its like plastic screw that holds the cables in place. Well the dealer wants to sell me the entire door lock assembly just for these two cables. total cost $239.99 ive looked online but the best possible is $219.99. Any luck on finding these cables from aftermarket source or used, I have checked all of my local lexus dismantlers and no luck so far. without this my door does not lock at all.
