  1. Hi, everyone, I have trade in my Lexus GS300 to dealer and get a Lexus RX 400H now. But my snow tires for GS300 not fit my new RX 400H, so I want to sell them now.

If you are interested, please contact me at charlielf05@hotmail.com

    thanks. Have a nice day.

I am living in Toronto, Canada

What are the winter tire size and rim size ?

I live in Kitchener Ontario, Canada.

  2. Does anyone know how many watts the Mark Levinson 10" sub is? I need to replace it. It blew out and I don't want to buy the original, I would like to just put an aftermarket sub. Does anyone have any recommendations on any subs that the Mark Levinson amp will push? Does anyone know how many watts the ML amp is?

One other thing. When I had my Mark Levinson 10 inch subwoofer replaced in my 2002 gs300, the technician had to go to a 12 inch subwoofer do to the subwoofer bracket or housing.

There is a repair for subwoofer if you can fix it. Do a subwoofer search on this site.

There is a lot of replacement subwoofer to the Mark Levinson subwoofer. Apparently, the Mark Levinson subwoofer is not as good as the home stereos.

My 2002 gs300 subwoofer blew last year.

When you take it to a trust worthy stereo shop, they can replace it with a decent Subwoofer. I payed about $130 for my replace subwoofer plus labor.

  4. Please help me find an adapter with CD quality sound. There is nothing on the internet for 1999? except newer car?

My car has factory 6 CD changer.

I am using the apple FM adapter but the sound is so poor.

    Thank you so much,

    Man.

Man, I had the same problem last year. It would cost me about $400-$450 to have an auxillary (RCA) jack installed and either my tape deck or

6 CD would have to be dis-abled.

So I bought Ipod holder that chrarges and hold my Ipod and a Tape adaptor for my Ipod (and Iphone which has the Ipod on it). It was about $20.00 at Walmart or Radio Shack.

Save yourself a few hundred bucks.

  5. I just purchased a 1998 GS300. I would like to know if there is any way I could upgrade my navigation system. Thanks.

You have to order it from a dealer and trade in your old disc drive when the update arrives from denso. The last update was 2004 now 4 years old. It costs $300.00 last time I ordered one in 2004. There is a flash drive port in the 98 lexus gps computers so I wonder if someone could load a newer version on a flash card and upgrade that way, I have never done it. I think Acura owners do that with there 98 hard drive computers.

yes i have a 99 gs 400 and i am in the same predicament... i think i am just going to sell mine and buy a new deck with the navigation so if there are any lookers for the stock navi ey just shoot me a message it is currently installed and willing to get rid of it or trade for a nice deck thanks ben

I have a 2002 GS 300 and I got a the 7.01 version for my car on Ebay for $79. It was a burned DVD but it works.

  6. Hi All,

I want to remove the factory stereo in my 2001 GS300 so I can attach an ipod integration cable. Does anyone have any experience removing the headunit? Is it very difficult? Any tricks? If the radio is unplugged does it have any theft deterrent feature rendering it useless? Thanks for any advice.

    JHerb

I was looking into the same thing but I went the cheap way with a cassette adaptor for my iPod from Belkin after I looked at the price of integration cable and other things plus installation.

I think you can get it from Walmart for about $20. It is a cassette tape attached to a RCA jack that you plug into your Ipod and control your Ipod to play the music.

I tried the FM connector, it was pretty bad sound.

  7. The motor system in your car has a jamb-protection feature built into it. That is, if it detects abnormally high resistance while attempting to close it will reverse and stop mid-travel. If your roof rails are not clean and properly lubricated (a dry-silicone spray is recommended, so as not to remain wet and attract dirt) this can cause enough drag to activate the jamb-protection function. If that problem is resolved, check the rear-most screws that attach the sliding blocks to the glass. These screws are hidden by the plastic trim around the edges of the glass. If they are loose, the glass may have fallen down out of alignment. The holes are elongated to allow a bit of vertical adjustment of the glass in the fully closed position. After making adjustments, be sure to cycle the roof from fully open to fully closed while holding the switch in the desired direction until the panel stops moving. This operation will reset the jamb-protection status.

Lastly, the limit switches in the motor may be worn which can cause all of your problems. Lexus refers to these switches as the pulse-plate circuit. The only fix for that is a new motor. Be prepared to look in the salvage yards. The list cost of a motor is over $500.00.

I have the same problem for my 2002 GS300. I just called the local Lexus dealer and he quoted me about $350.00 to clean and re-grease the track.

What would you recommend for cleaning out the dirt & debris from the tracks. I can not get into the back of the track.
