  1. If you have the car in park with the e-brake on, press the disc button till it toggles to the dvd playing on the front screen. Once you have the dvd playing on the front screen, press anywhere on the screen (I think, or maybe in the lower left hand corner), and a bunch of buttons will appear on the screen...you can pretty much do anything from those buttons like stop, get to the menu of the dvd, pause, etc....

I did the dvd hack a while back so I can view a dvd up front while the car is driving, so I think the directions of the car in park and ebrake is correct to get the picture to the front nav screen.

    Hope this helps...Will

I was able to play a movie with these directions. the only problem is when you stop and then start the car again you have to start the movie all over. any clues how to avoid starting over? also how do I hack to view a movie up front?

    Thanks,

    m

Help.. I have seen that other people have figured out how to play a movie without remote. how do I on a GX470?

Anyone have the answer here - I have the same question. It says on the DVD screen that you can use the front touch panel or something like that but I can't seem to do anything without the remote. Also - is there a way to watch a DVD on the front screen?

Anyone out there? It seems like the only posts that get any response are the ones of people selling bootleg Nav discs. Any suggestions from anyone? is there a better place to get some feedback form others regarding their cars?

    thanks

  2. I have just purchased certified pre-owned 2003 GX470(51,000mi).

It seems to be in a good condition so far except "Clunk". I have brought it to the

dealership but I have to wait for a few weeks since the updated drive shaft isn't

available in stock. Anyway I believe that this new drive shaft will solve the clunk

    problem.

Meanwhile, I would like to know if regular gas(87) is good for this vehicle or not.

Sales person of the dealership said that I should put premium gas for better gas

mileage but I doubt it. Please kindly let me know what risk or problem I might

have if I use regular(87) gas instead of premium(91 or 93).

    Thank you for your advice.

For VVTI engines, it is not recomended that you use 87 Octane for possible knocking. (05-up) For those that have Non-VVTI engines 87 is fine. (03-04). For any engine type, I would suggest using a gas additive just to keep valves clean.

What brand name additive are you using?

Buying from a toyota dealer.. My toyato dealer in town does not work on any Lexus, so if Toyota sells a lexus warranty will a Lexus dealer honor this warranty?

  4. Thank you, Reboot! I checked out the link. My battery also seemed to have needed replacing but not because the other one was dead, it was brand new. I was told by a friend who fixed it for me that he put in a "better" battery, mine was only emitting 2.9 volts and this "better" one 3.3 volts (they were both 3V batteries). Apparently the remote prefers a top of the line battery in it.... who knew!? ;) Thanks again!

I also have a problem with the battery in my remote. which battery and brand did you find?

  5. I inserted the DVD and press the DISC-AUX button which leads to nothing but the Main Audio screen. I am unable to press the picture key and only set up the Screen size. I just see the track and hear the volume but no picture. Please help

Have you found an answer on how to play a DVD without a remote. I have just joined this site and do not know how to navigate this site yet would you please email me an answer.

    Thanks,

  7. I was just advised by my service advisor that it is a completely newly designed drive shaft and assembly that will cure the thump. The parts have been ordered! My '05 with 14,000 miles has had the shaft lubed 4 times.

I have a 05 gx450 it had the clunk. they replaced it within 2 months. Mine started clunking around 5000 miles.

  8. We have a new '07 IS250, that is only 5 months old and has only 5000 miles. Complained about wear to service dept in Palm Beach. They agreed to change the back of the front seat cover one time only.

Seems that they know there's a problem.

I have a 05 gx470, I also use palm Beach. I mentioned this to Dino and he said the dealer will not fix the ware and tear, how did you get them to fix the seat. Also who is your contact person at Lexus?
