  1. I just had the Raytel 4200 installed in my 2004 GX470 and could not be happier. They even managed to connect it to the volume down button so when calls come in or go out the stereo turns itself down.

    Raytel is now TellPhone

The newer 5000VI system uses your navigation screen as it's display system. VERY SHARP!

Any idea where a guy can get this 5000VI system for a 2004 GX? Thanks

  2. As soon as someone finds a place or a lexus dealer that will put in a remote start in the IS please let the rest of us know. I have been bugging them for some time now asking when it will be available. It would be nice to program the smart key, because your right that would suck to have an additional fob. Hey look at me I'm a janitor! At that point you miht as well get one of those recoil chains to hook to your belt!

  3. New to the forum here and love the information you have all supplied. What options do you get with the KDSS package? I bought my wife the IS250 and I have become a true believer of Lexus! This is coming from a German automobile lover all my life. So I amlookng for a GX for myself and hear about the KDSS and figured this would be the best place for my information. Thanks in advance for all the information!

I'm local to you. I went from a German car BMW M3 to the Lexus GX470 this last October with the arrival of my first born. Miss that little rocket car once in a while, but I am enjoying the nice quite and smooth ride of the sport package GX470. Try to find one with the sport package with KDSS, you will love the look of this option and the handling is great with KDSS.

Thanks the german roots are die'n hard but I love my wifes IS250 so I am convinced on the GX over the Q7. so if I understand right the KDSS is sport handleing and a different trim kit instead of the wood?

  4. Does anyone have a sunglasses cabin on the interior roof?

There is a place reserved for it and the manual of the car sais it exists.

But my dealer cant order it for some reason.

He sais he doesnt have the article nr in his books.

Only for the GS and the LS!

If i could get a hold on that nr he could order it.

    any help would be great.

(the colour of my roof-interior is grey)

    greetz

Ours has it as well. Don't sweat it, it doesn't hold but the smallest glasses ever made.

  5. Just got mine tinted today, they didn't have to remove the door panel and still looks very professional. I did 20%, non-metallic all the way around. The only 'problem' I ran into is that the tint in on the back window really affected my signal with my Sirius (went from three bars to one and cutting out). I had the antenna mounted on the rear deck.

I moved the antenna to the front dash, the far-most corner on the drivers side. Back to full signal strength and can't even notice it as I have the black interior. Thank goodness because I did not want it on my trunk lid.

You lost your signal because of the window tint. I was instructed about this from my tinter guy!

  7. Will the TSB and parts replacement include a 2003 GX470 with 29,800 miles and out of their standard warranty period? Thank you.

If you make enough noise about it, you can get it done for nothing....as it should be. It's been a known issue with this vehicle and Lexus should have fixed it permanently as soon as they knew it. But, they say because it is not a safety issue, they will only fix it if a customer complains and if it is still under the 50,000 warranty.

You will see on the newest TSB that part of this service is covered to 70,000 miles and part only until 50,000 miles. Even my Lexus dealership did not know that part of it was covered under the 70,000 mile drivetrain warranty. I had to tell them to check the latest TSB.

In the end, I got the whole thing done for nothing on my 2004 GX470 with over 60,000 miles.

The newest TSB is April 2006. If anyone wants a copy of it, PM me with your email address and I will email you a PDF of it.

Could you send a copy of the TSB to djkim@iland.net Thank You Darrell

I would appreciate it if I could get a copy of that as well Nicholas_Riemer@yahoo.com Thanks in advance!

Please send a copy to mgowe1@yahoo.com, thank you
