  1. Is there anyone who can tell me if the HID bulbs in my 04 RX330 can be replaced with a bulb that will give me a higher K value.

What is the K value on the OEM bulbs. Any help please.

Yes they can replaced with 6000k bulbs for a bluer tint to the colour output. The stock K value on OEM bulbs is 4300.

  2. i think 20s would be a tight fit on a rx300....however they look good on the 330 :)

I think upgrading to the sport package Rx330 rims for the Rx300 would suffice....or you could hunt down a set of high polish rx300 rims(stock on the coach edition) they give off more shine without going towards too much 'bling'

    :)

  3. I was initially looking to purchase a 03' 4runner off the dealership floor, black on black fully loaded with the V8, but with my luck i noticed a graphite gray pearl coach edition sitting at the lexus dealer right beside it...went inside, got a test drive, was sold instantly B)

mostly for the interior, and ride....i definately feel i got my money's worth, especially considering i don't do that much off roading so the 4runner would've been overkill :whistles:

  4. i'm not quite sure about the lexus system, but a friend of mine has an aftermarket dvd system in his BMW and it came with that feature as well(only works when car is in park) however he took it to a Electronics guru that specialized in soundsystems and all that jazz. And was able to re-wire it so it only played it drive(in front).

  5. Winter time....the rear loves to swing out on my Rx300....however i find with very slow steady throttling thru a turn it minimizes traction loss....and leaves you with much more confidence as i've noticed My RX performs excellent otherwise int he snow....however throw a turn at it and it's something to worry about.

and i can vouch for wwest's comments....they are very well put together imo :)

  6. Actually im pretty confident it is comming out now. Even the dealers are somewat mentioning it. They want to take BMW head on. BMW M3 is comming out in 1.5-2years with a V8 400hp+ . Expect a powerful model of the IS around the time. I believe the new Lexus SC are going to be pretty quick too on the road. Lexus has just changed their marketing focus (orginally it was cars designed for the baby boomer generation) so all the new cars like the ES/LS will all have a different style of power, comfort, luxury, etc compared to the current ones.

you bet...Lexus is looking to come out with a new IS sedan with a v8 transplant as well as An IS COUPE/convertible

The coupe/convertible remains strictly a rumour for now, but it makes perfect sense considering tehre isn't exactly a lexus to compete with bmw's 3 series coupe/convertibles at the moment.

the e60(brand new bmw 3 series) coupes which are due in a year or so, are looking to be folding hardtop which eliminates the separation between a 3series coupe and convertible.....the new one will just be ONE. However, it is said that the M3 will maintain both variants(coupe/convertible)

  7. Thank you for replying,

I will bring this to my father's attention next time he's in at lexus. he doesn't seem to care about the braking power but i definately don't like the idea of the brakes being so soft.

Perhaps will even look into an aftermarket brake kit as well.

Thanks again for letting me know i'm not the only one who thinks these brakes feel like they belong on my Huffy.

  8. Hi, this is actually my fathers account but i just wanted to ask a quick question.

I drive the Rx300 occasionally as i own my own 2002 Honda Civic..two very different cars i know, However when i am driving the speedlimit in the Lexus i find braking distance is insanely large. i mean sometimes i find myself literally pushing the brake to the floor in order to get the vehicle to come to a complete stop in time. Are all Rx300s like this? I highly doubt our brakes are gone since our car has a mere 35 000km on it.

Also i am accustomed to driving an extremely light commuter car so this may be the difference i'm seeing. However, i feel that the Lexus should have possibly bigger brakes with more stopping power.

  9. A stain on the HOOD of the car?....on the paint...i ddn't know tumeric was taht strong! The wheels...i guess you could use a rim cleaner from the local automotive store.

A claybar might take out the tumeric residue...but i'm not sure...your best bet is call a really good detailer...and have them take a look at it....and ask them how much they will charge to clean it. They'll probably claybar/polish/wax the paint restoring to new.

  10. Do you guys clean ur tires with a brush or something before you apply the tire shine? I have an all purpose spray which cleans/protects vinyl and rubber...so i can use it on my interior dash as well as my tires.

Like the zaino product....it does not give it the "bling bling" look but definately shines clean!

  11. So Summer is approaching and it's time to make our cars look awesome again...removing the winter tires/rim packages and installing our summer wheels, cleaning the paint etc etc to create that show stopping appearance package

So this year i think it's finally time to detail the crap outta both my Lexus and the civic.

So these are the steps i was reccomended after reading COUNTLESS detailing articles:

    Step:

    1. Wash/Dry Car with heavy concentrated mixture of car wash liquid.

    2. Claybar Application and buff

    3. Pre-wax cleaner application and buff

    4. Wax Car

Now i've read all the steps in doing this and it doesn't seem too hard...it's just time consuming. So, i would like some advice on whether you guys think the pre-wax and waxing the car applications are repetative since they are essentialy very similar. I will be pre-waxing instead of polishing since the paint finish on the lexus if friggin flawless already. no swirl marks or anything *knock on wood* so i want to keep it that way.

Also, what towels do you guys own/use for buffing, as well as applying wax and pre-wax cleaner!?

Product Suggestion is DEFINATELY welcomed as well.....if any1 here has used zaino...lemme know the steps you used.

P.s. The Lexus' paint is as i said flawless however the civic's is QUITE contaminated. As i might have to polish instead of pre-waxin it.

    Thanks in advance guys!

  12. I have a Graphite Grey Pearl Rx, it's the first vehicle i've owned that is close to black. I've always had white, silver, cars and one red car...which was also a headache and a half to take care of. However this pearl is insanely high maintenance i find....drive through the smallest dirt road and i find myself staring at a dirty RX when i reach my driveway, dirt shows up instantly if i take it anywhere that isn't clean/dry asphalt. Lets see how it holds up this winter

As of yet it has been in the garage for all the cold wintery weather including days when we had flurries and whatnot. And believe it or not i detailed the SUV myself weeks ago when i last took it out and now the rear/side of the RX is dirty from just opening up the garage door allowing some flurries to come in

but all in all, nothing beats the shine of the paint when it's spotless!

  13. Did you buy yours new from a lexus dealer?

Are you sure it is not a US model shipped and transfered here?

Their are 3 in the autotrader not a single ES in coach which are the only 2 models , the RX's have the grilles but not the rims ?

yes mine was purchased from Northwest Lexus, here in Toronto about a year ago.

Colours offered with the Coach edition package include: White(not sure of the proper name), Champagne(once again theres a lexus name for it), and Graphite Grey Pearl(which i own)

And the rims offered with the Coach edition are not chrome they are polished or something liek that. There is definately a visual difference between the normal rims as a buddy of mine has a 2002 without the c/e package and his rims seem less 'glossy'.

I am not sure about EScoach editions as i dont know a lot of toronto lexus owners, but i do know the RX coachs WERE offered as a package here in Canada. And i'm not sure if the rx's on autotrader were shipped here or not, but i do know that the dealers here did offer the coach edition package on rx's

  14. Are you sure you are not getting confused?

As the RX in Coach was never offered in Canada ,hell no coach has ever been sold in Canada through lexus.

We get the platinum and somethign else as well as dealer made up designations with their add ons for an inflated price.

i believe you are mistaken. I myself own a 2002 Lexus Rx300 Coach edition, and i know many owners that own a coach edition in toronto as well.

it was a package offered by the dealer from 01-03 i believe.

in fact, there are numerous coach editions still availble (used obviously) in the autotrader and various dealerships in the Greater toronto Area

  15. oddly enough, i've seen QUITE a few in the toronto area, i must've seen about 10 in the past month or so.

quite common :) ....but i have yet tos ee more then one in graphite grey pearl(the colour i own :) )

    i love it
