  1. I have the same problem in my '91 Ls. Took it to the dealer who basically told me each guage in the dash has its own computer. In the past, they would replace one computer.. like the tachometer... but that in turn would mess up something else like the speedometer. So basically inoder to fix that problem they would have to replace the entire dashboard computer....

    Estimated cost: $3,500...

Um, needless to say i can live without knowing my cars RPMs :glare:

Carpoolers was an American single-camera comedy series that premiered on October 2, 2007 on ABC. The show was created by Bruce McCulloch, who also executive produces alongside Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, David Miner, Marsh McCall, Joe Russo and Anthony Russo (formerly of Arrested Development). Joe and Anthony Russo also directed the pilot. The series focuses on the everyday lives of four male suburbanites from different working class backgrounds, who take their private lives and issues along for the ride during their daily commute to and from work.[1]

Produced by DreamWorks Television, ABC Studios and 3 Arts Entertainment, the series was given a thirteen-episode order on May 11, 2007.[2] and originally aired Tuesdays at 8:30PM Eastern/7:30PM Central following Cavemen.[3] After a brief hiatus, the show returned to ABC's schedule on January 8, 2008 at 9:30PM Eastern/8:30PM Central, following According to Jim[4].

After the writers strike ended, ABC declined to order any additional episodes of Carpoolers.[5] The season finale aired on March 4, 2008 and it is unlikely that the show will return for a second season.

  3. Great video!! I love the first gen LS--it still looks great after all these years, and it's such a significant car for Lexus. B)

It still amazes me how well the original design has aged. The Jag and BMW look positively antique; the MB looks like a classic (I have a soft spot in my heart for the old 126).
Considering the w126 came out in 1979, it still looks great! B) I agree the LS400 could still be sold today, but I also think the same could be said for the Jag XJ since the exterior changes have been fairly minor over the past 20-30 years.

Awesome video! Thanks for sharing. B)

Fascinating review. I thank you for posting it. My 94LS still runs like a top.

A recent March 8 article in CNN Money on line has an interesting comparison of a high line Beemer owner and a new Lexus and Cadillac CTS.

Sure makes you proud of Lexus.

No problem! :) Figured i'd share the video with the forum. The Ls kind of raised the bar and showed there is more to luxury than the emblum on the hood.

  4. whatever you can totally compare two old toyotas.

avalon is based off camry. huge interior. Nice engine. nice interior. 0-60 in mid 8's. Ls400 does it in high 7's.

LS400 based of nothing else. V8 instead of v6 but similar performance. smaller interior due to rear wheel drive instead of FWD.

Avalon feels lighter and more nimble because it weighs 500lbs less.

Avalon is not as quiet. Not as smooth, or as refined.

I was seriously considering an avalon, but i wanted a v8. And the LS400 interior may be smaller, but its much nicer. Also the motorized headrests and huge sunroof are bonuses.

1st gens are gettin up there in age and can be had for almost no money. No other car comes close in value for money. A clean 1990 will be smoother than many newer cars.

LS400 ages very gracefully. Avalon not quite as well, but still good.

Thats more along the lines if what i was hoping for, really appriciate the response. I considered buying one but i ended up with the Ls400 instead, and i think i made the right decision. But I justed wanted to know how does one measure up to the other, granted they're in different classes and what not.
