  1. A few weeks ago my brothers 'new' 95 SC400 lost its steering, ok, checked the belt, replaced. tightened tensioner. checked power steering fluid, looks a little goopy brown... like the stuff in the valve covers on my 350 vortec when my intake manifold gasket went. PS pump doesnt make any noise when turning the wheel. no CEL. is this a normal problem in these cars? thanks for your help.

    steering rack may be toast.

  2. I have a 1993 SC400. My heater will blow but not warm air. Is there a heat control valve that I can check/replace or should I be looking for trouble someplace else ?????? Is it controlled by a fuse or what ??

Are you getting Hot air when your in Motion?

There is a heater duct valve that's controlled by your Climate Control. Look for something on the Pass-side midrange engine bay for that. You should be able to manually open the cover.

No, I don't get hot air when in motion. I changed the thermostat like SeanGrac said. It made no difference. I am now looking for the heater valve, with no success. Is it on the firewall section (passenger side) or on the fender weld (passenger side) ????? I've checked all fuses and they look good. Still stuck !!!!!! Thanks

i have one for sale 40 shipped to your door. paypal is gazi_ali@hotmail.com

  3. I have a 1995 SC400 and she is a great car. I recently went through a snow and ice storm (that's Indiana for ya) and the wipers got stuck going down and stayed there for several days as it wasn't safe to drive her. Now my windshield washer motor has started to make a clicking sort of grinding noise when the wipers are turned on and running. While the wipers aren't in motion the noise stops and on the intermittent setting a popping happens when the wipers come to rest. Just wanted to know if anyone had any ideas or if it's as bad as I thought and I need a new wiper motor. If I do, does anyone know the best place to get one from?

i have a few parts cars for sale, wiper motor will be 65 shipped to your door.

  4. Check the plug which is underneath the mirror control panel in the driver's side arm rest. It's pretty easy to pop out...just a small screwdriver will do the trick. Once the panel is popped out, look at the plug.

if that doesnt do it, it is your mirror ecu which is faulty. they go bad all the time. i have one for 40 shipped to your door.

  5. I have a '93 SC 400 that has a hand full of issues with the controls on the driver's side door. The mirrors, seat settings, and speakers all don't work. (didn't work when I bought the car so I don't know how long this has been going on.)

The cd player had to be disconnected because it was draining the car battery so I'm thinking that there is a possibility that this could be part of the speaker issue if it was done incorrectly, but what about the other two? I'm trying to prepare myself for the repair bill when I take it in but wanted to see if any of you have had these issues and if so, how much cash should I expect to pony up to get them fixed? But of course the main question is, what the heck is going on?

open the door panel, make sure all the connections are secure.
