Whenever I go over a speed bump in a parking lot, both the front and rear shocks make loud dry "creaking" noises. Are my shocks bad, or are my struts bad? Or both?

After dumping a lot of money on a busted timing belt, and fixing a coolant leak between the engine block and the tranny, I don't want to have to spend a lot of money for this problem. The car still drives and handles really nice other than when I go over these speed bumps.

Any cost estimates for parts and labor on these items???

If the noise dosent bother you just live with it. Sometimes SEARS has free instilation but if not it shouldnt cost more than 450 total for all 4

Hello. So i'm looking to purchase a 92 SC300 w/ 194k miles. Two owners, clear VIN#, all service records. and it's a 5 speed!

here's the listed problems currently with the car:

no ac

passenger door opens only from inside (outside handle feels loose)

passenger window only rolls down 3/4 of the way (about 3 inches of window doesn't go down)

Trunk lid doesn't stay open

quarter of the instrument cluster is dim

antenna doesn't come up all the way

right rear quarter panel damage behind the tire on the very bottom, not sure how that got there but it looks minor and just asthetic.

she says it eats a bit more oil today than it did when she bought it in 01

The engine runs very smooth, the interior is perrrfect except for typical wear and tear on the tan leather drivers seat. shifts smooth-no grind.

Given the problems, and the price: $5000, is that a good price for what the car is? I had her pull down the ads cause i told her i'm gonna pick it up this weekend, because right now i think it's a good deal, but if you guys see any red flags i should know about or discuss with her before then or somethign I should check for when I go back up there to pick it up, let me know.

JOE way to mucj I got a 92 sc400 with 200k on it for 2k I love this car it is automatic and a great car. It has everything that you said wrong with it except my windows work. Still I would not pay more than 3k max for this vehical.

When I am sitting still it idles kinda rough...also when I am accelerating it hesitates and kinda bucks...

I'm guessing its a misfire however I could hear a repeating hiss sound the increases in frequency as the rpms rise.

I'm thinking it is either a vaccuum leak or bad plug/coil/wire but if there's any other possibilites please enlighten me...

Looks to me like maybe one of 2 things..check your Fuel Pump or the Fuel Filter....good luck!!!

could be a few thing misfire, fule pump, fuel filter, clogged fuel filter you really need to goto someone to help with this one but it sounds like a fuel prob or misfire. CHeck your plugs

Hey guys,

I previously had a shaking problem like a week ago at around 50-60 mph. I purchesed centering rings and THAT SOLVED the problem. i was so relieved. But today, they started shaking not as bad, but noticable, around 50-60mph. IM so sad. I thoguht the problem was solved. I cant think of anything else i can do to fix it. I just got an allignemnt job two days ago, all rotors are straight. wheels are balanced. What else could it be? Can anyone suggest or help me. ITs really annoying.

OK guys here it is. The problem which I have had is the lower control arms. Unfortunatly each peice is 350-600 each used. I have gotten 2 at the junk yard for 130 I got real lucky and found them. If you are in houston or close I have a great cheep mechanic that will do both if you have the part for about $100. they should be able to shake the wheel to see if thats what it is. But this will make all the difference. GOOD luck!!

I ended up doing the same with a dime

thanks for all your help it only cost about $1.50 that ius with a fuse puller and extra fuses.

I Have a FLOODED out from insurance 1992 sc400. It has over 200k on the car. New transmission stock engine. I love this car!! It is very fast HIGH end and fun to drive. FEELS LIKE A RACE CAR. Any used car will cost something to keep running. I recommend this car to anyone.

I have a breaking problem the breaks have life on them but when I stop lightly there is a wineing sound near the pedal.

anyone know what the deal is?????
