  1. Compressor holds 4 oz of oil

    19-22.9 oz of refrigerant.

    You must remove the condenser to replace the desicant!

    First picture is the new filter and plug compared to old one

    Next picture is the Receiver Drier on the side of the condenser

    Next is the old desicant bag

    and then the new desicant bag fresh from the sealed plastic bag and my dirty hand!

  2. Here's the catch. You can't simply replace the receiver/drier like most cars as it it built onto the side of the condenser. You would have to replace the entire thing. Yes I am doing everything my self. I'll post pictures when I can get my photobucket account working again. I took a few of the old and new stuff. The kit comes with a new desacant bag and the filter and plug. I've got it all back together and my low and high side pressures are good!

  3. If you broke the ball joint then it pulled the wire out of the sensor. Mine did it yesterday. The sensor comes out of the hub with a single 10mm bolt (wrench size) and then there are two more bolts that hold the wire to the strut and one to the fender well. follow the wire up into the plastic shroud. You will need to unbolt the shroud and then you can get to the connector under the front bumper cover. The part name should be something like ABS wheel sensor. You can see the sensor wire pulled tight in this picture. The wires inside the jacket are broke and the jacket is stretched. I was able to solder the wire back and used some shrink wrap but I don't think it will last too long. The part is most likely a Lexus only part so go to a dealer. Did a quick search on-line and didn't find one. Maybe someone else has a source?

  4. My Wife's car broke the lower right side yesterday morning. The worst part was getting the part. None of the parts houses stock them so it was off to Lexus to pay $107 for a part that you can get online for $76. I guess someone has to pay for the granite counter tops at their parts department. Other than that, I fixed the car right there in the street in less than 20 min. Thank God it broke two houses down from ours. I was also able to repair the anti-lock sensor. That one was close as the wire broke far enough out of the sensor to repair it. I can't complain as my other car is a Volvo. This Lexus is twice the car and it has 170,000 on the clock. Do any of you know if any of the Toyota models interchange front end parts with the GS300?
