  1. Thats exactly how I did mine but my instructions that came with the antenna weren't as "official." I wish these antennas weren't so huge... I am looking into possible alternatives and will reply back if I find anything nice

The antenna broke on my 2005 SC430. I ordered one as mentioned above, however my situation was different. The cable snapped off at the base of the metal mast and is stuck inside the motor unit. Now I am looking at the challenge of removing all of the related trunk covering to gain access.

I may let this one go and take it to the dealer..

Anyone else taken on this job?

  2. I believe the sensors only work with run flat tires. At least that is what I was told be the dealer. Maybe they were trying to sell me the run flats, which I didn't buy. So, the sensor light is on all the time. If anyone knows the real info, knows different, I'd like to know.
  3. Hey, if you all ready have a master key you can program up to 3 more keys. but its a two step process. first you have to program your key fob to lock and unlock your doors/truck. then you have to program the chip in the key to start your engine. Yes, you really can do this yourself. The following link is the very best fully detailed site i'll found to date for all lexus/toyota key/fob programing and best of all is 100% FREE :D

I'am not sure how to post this link but here it is. just copy and paste to you address bar then ad it to your favs: www.toy-lex.com/programming

  4. Well I have a 2003 that has 160,000 on it and it only runs on regular 87 octance. Don't waste your money on high test and heaven forbid octance booster...... there is actually more energy in regular gas than high octance,, but the flash point is higher with the high octance which reduces valve rattle and pre-ignition.... if your engine rattles on up hill pulls, then increase the octance rating,, if it doesn't then enjoy the cost saving....

  6. I would ask the good people at SRT if they make one that would work on your car...

Thank you for your suggestion. My car is in storage for the winter but comes out next spring for full use. I bought it in June with 71K on it and will be using it as my daily commuter which will put 40K on annually for 3 years.

I have commuted using an Acura 3.5 Rl with proper maintenacne and Mobil 1 throughout, the major components run like new (now has 300k on it)

I will keep up the posts as my mileage increases, but this is a very stellar ride that I bought as it is a Toyota and is built like a tank. All the Consumer reports are "thumbs up"

Over time I will be looking to enhance the looks with a few performance mods and new wheels which I will use in the summer sending the factory ones for winter use.

Based on a number of member recommendations, the run flats will be tossed for non run flats when they wear out. The problems with grabbing pavement ruts also happens with my BMW Z4 and it is a 2 hands on situation.

  7. When you get your tranny serviced insist on Mobil 1 tranny fluid only. This will offer much better shifting, oxidization and thermal stability, hot and cold weather peformance. It costs a little more but won't burn like regular mineral fluid.

Mobil 1 is a POA synthetic (vs mineral modified and called synthetic) and will make a difference.
