  1. Well, I went for it today. A 1992 LS, Blk/cream, 113k, grand total of $2900. A few dings here and there but still a lovely shine! This thing drives smooooth! Went to pick it up in NY (bout 188 miles) and drove it back. Smoother than my buddies 2007 Pontiac grand prix, We had to laugh, being that it is a 16 year old car :whistles: .

Anyway, There are a few things, just cosmetic bothering me. The interior is very well kept, aside from a tear in the driver seat, there is little to no wear, but the steering wheel is killing me! Im gonna surf around tonight and see what I can do about it, It's worn to the bone. Any suggestions, Maybe grab a new one off Ebay or something, What do you typically do?

Other than that I love it!!

It was the very informative and supportive nature of this forum that secured my decision to buy this vehicle, Thanks!!

Congrats- Post some pictures! 113k is nothing. I have 130k on a '96 and it runs as well as the day it was new. Seriously. Good luck with it. See if you can find a good independent to service it for you.

  2. I've been looking for an alternative to the local Lexus Dealership in this area for some time. I always had the feeling that my local dealer here has been doing me a favor servicing my 2 Lexus vehicles. Over charged, and under serviced. So much so, that when I purchased a new vehicle lately, I went in an entirely different direction. There just wasn't an alternative unless I was willing to drive an additional twenty miles. Not any more. Yesterday I went to an independent shop which seems to understand the meaning of service and value. Great service, at reasonable prices with LEXUS and Toyota certified specialists in Rockville Maryland, LXT Automotive, 301.881.4033. Owner operated with an expert diagnostic specialist who worked at Lexus for 16+ years. They advertise "Will save you lots of time and $$." They did. They aren't a fancy shop and I have no affiliation with them. I'm just happy to get great service and value.

    Location: MD,DC,VA

  3. I had the same plan for my 96 until I removed them. I had pins in all of my rear emblems, which would leave holes if you took of the "Lexus" and "LS 400". I have a dark colored car, so I opted for the black chrome emblems which gives a much cleaner appearance than the gold that came on my car.

Thanks! I have a white car, so I think I'll go back to the original chrome. Too bad. I like the idea of just the "L" but not enough to pay to fill and repaint.
