  1. Thanks to this thread I had no problem installing a Kenwood DDX714 into my wifes 2006 Lexus ES330. I used the exact components (except I purchased the 06' version of the double din Mark Levinson faceplate).

With the full 7" screen with the buttons at the bottom of the DDX unit, I think it almost looks factory. I'll have to post a few pictures of the install in the car.

    Thanks Silentvigalante786 !!!!!

what is the part number for 2006 version face plate? just out of curiosity

  2. i've been quoted these prices from SS lex:

    $144.88 - 5540533230

    $26.48 - 8621133170

    $24.08 - 8621233170

    $2.00 - 9015350010

    $1.52 - 9356855016

$200 just for the dash kit...

anyone knows the source where i can get these parts cheaper?

    www.mylexparts.com

you only need to buy the faceplate. The brackets and screws are already holding your old radio so you can use them to hold your new double din radio. There may be 2 screws lacking but the audio install shop should easily provide you with the right size at no charge.

  3. I think tan interiors are great but it seems that they come normally with blue/white exterior. Im wondering if its just me or there really is not many silver/tan ls430s around. My dad wanna upgrade to a 05 ls430 with PCS from a 01 premium lexus but most tan leathers come with blue/white/grey exteriors. If they are indeed rare I think he will have to settle for a dark colored one.

  4. That's about the same as here in Texas. Maybe a little higher here.

I would get the 2004 and save yourself some $$. Cosmetically, cars are identical; I'm also not aware of any "bugs" addressed in the 2005. I bought a 2004 (unfortunately no Levinson- I didn't want the navigation and Levinson/nav is a package), but it has AC/Heated seats with 70k miles (not certified because of mileage- car was turned in with 70,108 miles) from Lexus in Jacksonville, FL for $22k. Added platinum warranty which covers me for 2 years or 100k total miles for another $2,200. Car was purchased from that dealer, serviced every 5k miles there, and traded in back in 12/07- had been sitting on the lot 5 months. They were asking $28,500 on the internet and after talking to the sales person on the phone for a while, he said $22k and it's yours. I drove 6 hours to get it and it's been awesome. I did a lot of looking (6 months worth) on eBay, Autotrader, and Cars.com and felt I got a great deal, especially knowing the history of the car and the fact that the dealership kept if for so long showed me that they believed in the quality of the car instead of auctioning it off.

PS- If interested in talking to someone at Lexus of Jacksonville, go with Keith Oktem in the pre-owned dept. Good luck.

looks like lexus ls 2005 are a real bargain these days. If one were to get a 2005 lexus ls with UL package and pre collision around 20k-40k miles with at least 3 months warranty left at a small dealer whats the price like in the states?
