On my 2000 Lx 470, the power button for the transmission recently stopped working. It doesn't light up anymore either. Is there a fuse hidden somewhere that I can't find? Anyone else had this problem and fixed it?

Thanks for the info. We had the Parrot 3100 installed today. The call sound comes out the two front speakers and mutes the radio when the call comes in. Nice. Now I want it on my truck.

Has anyone here installed a Parrot CK3100 hands free device in a 2000 LX 470 w/ the Nakamichi radio (no navigation)? I tried looking for a plug and play harness but doesn't appear to exist for this model. We want the sound to come out the car speaker (s) and mute the radio when calls come in.

(of course the CD player doesn't work, it's a Nakamichi)

Any other suggestions for decent hands free devices for a reasonable cost (75-160)?

Hmmmm. This post has me reflecting back to when I greased the driveshaft yokes and probably put many pumps of grease into it, maybe increasing pressure on the transfer case. A possible fix for too much grease: How about unscrewing the grease zirk and driving over a couple dips to flex the yoke, forcing out the extra grease through the zirk hole? Does that make sense?

I know you said the radio was off. However, I have a 2000 LX470 w/ a Nakamichi CD changer. The CD changer has been broken since I bought the car used a couple years ago. Often, the CD changer makes exactly the noise you described on engine startup. I'm not sure if it does it when the radio is turned off. Not a bad AM/FM radio though.......... <_<

My 98 has a warning sticker on it that says "suspension fluid only" and to see the owners manual. As you may know the 98-2002 models are the closest models in similarity. In 2003 there were some cosmetic changes and interior changes but all in all 98 till last year there were no major mechanical changes under the hood. So yeah there is for sure a warning label stating to see owners manual.

I have a 2000 Lx470. There are no stickers on the tank but the cap has a sticker that says "Notice- AHC fluid only, see owners manual. I hope this helps.

Leaking shocks may be salvageable. There are several great products used on motorcycle forks that rejuvinate hardened seals. However, IMHO, the first thing to do is replace the flat accumulators. Leakage is not a typical condition for LX struts. Have you replaced the old AHC fluid yet?

Sorry for the late reply. Repairing the Lexus is on hold for now. No, I have not changed the AHC fluid. I am the second owner of this car. Replacing the accumulators/fluid is on the list of things to do.

Thanks for the reply Texasoil. I had previously emailed your company and you were quick to reply with an answer to my question. I have not done the work yet but am seriously considering your aftermarket accumulators. I suppose I could replace four accumlators and see if the shocks work without leaking/misting too much (save about a grand).

I'm a little annoyed at the complexity/expense of the suspension system but dang, it is such a nice vehicle to ride in. At least I hope it will be when the accumulators get replaced. I shouldn't complain, I bought used at a good price. It is a great ride for the wife and kids.

First Post. The front end rides rough. Press down on the bumper and i get only about 1" travel, very stiff. Rear has about 3" travel. I plan on replacing all four accumulators when I accumulate enough cash. Has anyone used Texasoil's new accumulator design?

Three of the AHC shocks are wet, so they are probably leaking, most likely due to bad accumulator (pressure spike).

I plan on having my mechanic R/R the parts after I get them.

Where is a good online place to buy the shocks? Will landcruiser AHC shocks work and if so, what year works with the 2000 LX 470?
