  1. How often does the oil need to be changed in a 2006 GS 430?

The manufacturer says every 5k miles...But I used to change the oil in my cars every 3k-4K.

How good is the oil that Lexus provides?  Is it a fully synthetic or semi synthetic?  Any after market oils reccomended for the GS?

    Thanks in advance.

Either way you can't go wrong. I have always done the change at 5k miles as recommended by Lexus and I am on my 3rd Lexus. I now have a 2006 GS300 /AWD.

  2. Hi all,

I'm a new member of this forum, but have been a long time Lexus owner.

I have had 2 LS400s and am considering buying the new GS300 AWD.

I wondering if any past LS owners have purchased the new GS and what are your thoughts.

My reason for switching to the GS is our son will be off in college next year and we won't need a car that big any longer not that the GS is small.

I am also feeling the need for something a bit more sporty as I approach the big

    5-0.

I know I want the DVD nav system and all that comes with that package, but am undecided on the other big options like the parking system.  I'm also sorry a Sirius Satellite radio isn't an option as I will need my Howard Stern fix come January.

As for colors I'm leaning towards the Glacier Frost with Ash interior, but that color seems to change in different lights from white to gray to blue.  The Glacier White seems closer to my first LS which was a pearl white and I love that car.  Cystal White seems a bit bright.  My son says Mercury  is just tooo silver, but I like it even thought all new cars in DC are either silver or black.  I asked about the Cypress and the dealer told me it was really "rare" - that seems a bit odd.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I purchased a 2006 GS300 AWD in June. It is Glacier Frost with Black Interior and I love it! I get raves about the color! This is my second GS and before that I had an ES, but I like the style and look of the GS better than any of the other models.

  3. Just got a brand new GS 300 and did not like dealer offered rims (price or appearance). I have stock Dunlop 225/r17 tires. Has anyone done the research and chosen After Market rims?

I just put Kaotik Z'5 from MHT Wheels on mine. They distribute Kaotik, Concept Neeper, Driv, Dub, Foose, Niche, etc. But, of course, each taste is subjective. Nevertheless, whatever you choose make sure they take the valve stem/sensor off of the stock wheels and put them on the new ones so that you are not bothered with the low air pressure warning light! Alternatively, you might be able to purchase some extras from Lexus (big bank, though).

  4. click on my user name and you'll see a pic of my 2006 blue onyx pearl gs300 sittin' on 20" chrome rims.

let me know what you guys think....

i'm getting some gucci upholstery done this weekend too...i'm gonna take some pics but dont know where to host them and would love some feedback from you guys on that too when its done....let me know if one of you guys can host the pics for me...

Did you use the original valve stems with the sensors so that the low tire pressure warning light does not stay on? I heard that is the only problem on the 2006 with aftermarket rims. I want to put some 20" Niche or Driv's on mine.

  5. I am rollin on a 99 GS300 and I am going to swap my stock 16" rims for either 18" Foose "Spanks" or Kaotik "Z5's". I have read a lot about lowering the car with the larger rims, but is it absolutely necessary with 18" rims? Although it seems to be a given for 20" rims. Also, the dealer that I am purchasing the rims from is suggesting Nitto 555's. Any comments on them.
