  1. disconnecting the battery, removing the Disk player (ECU?) from underneath the passanger seat and disconnecting the battery inside the dvd drive worked for me. LX470. used a small flat head to break the solder to the battery lead, then taped it back on. i was too chicken to solder in there. if the connection comes loose, ill solder it

How long did you disconnect the battery?

    I did this twice.

First time I opened up the rear compartment and took out the navigation ECU, and took it apart to do the reset, and it worked.

Second time I simply disconnected the car battery for over night, and it also resetted. Bad part is, all other settings were lost as wel.

Thanks for your reply. It's been a while since I checked this forum last time. Will try this weekend.

    Thanks again!!

  2. Hello,

I have a 2003 IS300. I am having a problem with the stock stereo system. When I first turn the ignition, there is no sound coming from the stereo. CD, radio, iPOD via GROM for iPod interface. After 15-20 min driving, I get the sound back. Does anyone have similar problem like this? If yes, can you tell me how to fix this?

This starts happening a week ago. There was no changes made to the car recently.

Things I have done so far,

remove fuse and put back in after a several min. No luck,

disconnect battery for a several hours. no fix

    Any suggestions appreciated.

    Thanks!

  4. OK...another dummy here 2002 IS300 and I selected another country thinking I could judt undo it, after hours on the net the only thing I see that is a remote possibility is a guy on this board called TheT bought the $300 update 7.1 disc and that fixed his problem. Can anyone verify that this will work in my system? Or-is there a Gen 3 disc that will reset the thing?

(I've tried all of the unplug it, disconnect the yellow bat stuff)

    Hello,

I have done the same thing with the 2003 IS300. Tried unplugging power, tried to reset the main board on ECU reset button, but could not find. Can anyone send me the reset disc?

    Thanks.

  5. OK, add me to the list of dummies who hit the 'load' button on the service menu. I took it to my local Toyota dealer and they said it was over their head and to go to my Lexus dealer. As a result I decided to try to reset my ECU first before heading down the more expensive dealer path.

I was successful in reseting the ECU (Yes!) but now my Nav screen shows me in Washington DC and I'm in Chicago! Anyone have any idea how to correct this? The disc loaded properly and it's the original factor version.

    Thanks!!

I believe you can select regions from on of the menu screen (regular menu , not from the hidden menu screen). I have done it, unfortunately, I have a navi that is not working, I can not give you specific instruction.

How did you reset the ECU? After I am successful with that I can help you on this.

  6. Hi guys,

I have a 2003 lexus is200 and my satnav is messed up, i got into the service menu and selected he wrong area now it is asking for correct disc, it's also in japanese, I've tried a few things to fix it, like disconnecting the satnav in the boot/trunk and removing/de-soldering the battery from the satnav unit.

My satnav is the single cct board unit.

Are they any other things i can try?

Is there a disc that would reset the unit that i could get my hands on?

    Kevin

    (Ireland)

Did you figure out how to reset?

    Thanks,

  7. I've the same problem. Changed country tab and do not remember what was selected so I don't know what kind of disc I need.

Maybe somebody could post all possible country selections found under "country tab".

As I remember there was JPN, US and ... and don't remember :-)

Knowing the country we should try to find corresponding LOADING.KWI file and take a try to start the navi with it.

    I'm guessing ...

    YES YES YES....HALLELUJAH........It finally worked.

I opened the ECU unit, unplugged the wore that connects to the battery that saves the memory, the whole system was reset and it was very easy......

here is the link....let me know how it works for u guys

Hello, can you kindly repost the link? I am having the same problem now...

    Thanks!

  8. I was one of the idiots who tried to change to the EU region on a US system and killed my nav unit...dead. Lexus said there was no fix, I even called the 800 number.

There were several fixes posted here and on other sites but none worked for me.

What did work was sending it to a guy in Detroit called ToyoLexNavSpec. He fixed it like new for less than the cost of a new disc. You can find him on EBay selling nav systems (this was where I found him) or email at tahirmallick@hotmail.com . I'm getting nothing for posting this from him, I jut know that there are people out there who would like to get their system fixed.

I also think another guy who goes by egusman can fix them.

Is your case same as mine? I have done something wrong and cannot have the Nav running...

  9. I have 03 IS300 with stock navigation. Someone showed me how to override and I was checking around menus. After I checked the Map selection, and pressed OK, I get the screen like this and stuck.

    -----

    Caution

Error: System unable to access the program.

    Incorrect program disk.

    Please insert proper disk.

    ------

I reloaded the DVD but the screen remains. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Thank you in advance for your help.
