  1. Hey there. I seemed to have that problem as well. At on point I was unable to get a CD out for weeks. Your problem may be that the CDs you are putting in your player are burned. I read the manual about this problem and sure enough it stated that this CD player does not like burned cd's. I haven't placed any burned cd's in since and have been placing my cd's that I have placed my store bought cd's in there and my player has been fine since. Hope this helps. I know it sucks because I have tons of burned cd's

  2. Okay call me a dummy but I am not even too sure what the trac button is for. I read a little on it but was not too sure. I always thought the button should be on all of the time....??? Could anybody clarify

I was looking into it. I don't think it's as easy as just switching the controls. The traction control system registers with the vehicle everytime it starts up. I think if you reverse the connection you'll throw up a cell saying there is a problem with the TCS everytime you start the car. So, you would have to be able to override that also, which means you would have to do some ecu work.
  3. Hey thanks, I am getting very frusterated with my CD. I have not tried hitting it yet, but will do first thing tomorrow. Other than that i will be taking it back to the dealership.

BTW: My car was getting angry at me. My door was open.

    Thanks for the help

Oh one more question. Now that I am thinking of it......I know alot of new cars have the lock code if you disconnect the battery......I dont think the dealership issued me one. Does your have one?

Yeah the stereos are known to be pretty crappy. Mine is doing the same thing and I'm gonna get it replaced. Here's the advice people gave me:

1 - Try pushing eject and while the amber light are flashing, hit the side of the stereo in hopes of unjamming the CD stuck in there. Hitting stuff *works*.

2 - Try disconnecting the negative of the battery for about 10 minutes, and then reconnecting it. It'll restore the factory settings of the car, and if you're lucky, shoot out the jammed disc.

3 - Take apart the CD player and take the discs out by hand. Follow this link: http://my.is/forums/2997488-post18.html

Was one of your doors open when you tried to lock it? They get angry if you do that.

    Hope this helps!

  4. We just purchased a 2003 IS300, for 18,000. What is the KBB on this lexus. But in my personal opinion maybe let him drive around your sisters car until he get more experienced. A friend of mine sold her Mercedes with only 20,000 miles on it to a first time driver and withing the first few weeks. It was crashed. Also a Lexus for a first time driver, insurance maybe a little pricey. My sister was a first time driver and bought a brand new Toyota Corolla. Oh my goodness, was her insurance high. I believe total with her insurance was about 200 because it was a new car. However it may differ being that the car is used. you sister could just call and ask for quotes for insurance.

I went to my sister's house several weekends ago for my nephew's birthday celebration; he turned 16. And being 16, the first thing he did was schedule a drive test and pass with flying colors.

We went stopped by three dealerships last night and he didn't take serious interest in anything. That is, until he laid his eyes on a black 2001 IS300. After I dropped him off at his house and went home, my sister called me and told me her concern; he wants the Lexus. After some research I discovered IS300's around 4-6 years old cost below $15,000 (the price max for his car) and hold strong reliability and quality.

Me and my family's main concern is whether or not the IS300 is a suitable first car. It has an adequate amount of power, lots of luxury appointments teens will appreciate, and very reliable even though it's 6 years old (I had a 2001 330Ci...never again!). We also have no clue about the insurance rates. Your input is greatly appreciated!

  5. I just recently purchased a Lexus 03 IS 300. I have read the owners manual that was posted about my CD Player and the CDs not ejecting. I get an Error 3. I have only placed 1 CD and it also will not load. and now I just walked to the car and I locked the doors and my lock button is continuously beeping. HELP!
