  1. I'll try that.. I was thinking of tapping into the stock amp under the seats.. It has a ACC 12+ and FR and FL speaker connections.. Would this work?

Also to blk_on_blk; What do you mean by running the 12V from the engine bay down the length? Where do you go with the wire after it hits arm rest / storage box?

.. Also do anyone here know how to remove the door still (I believe that is what it's called." The plastic piece that runs underneath the door that holds the carpet down..

  2. Hey David,

I did a sub install on our 1995 ES and I ran the clean 12V power cable though the firewall on the driver's side through the soft grommet to the left of the pedals. I then routed it back down under the center console... that's the easiest way to go. Once you remove the console, you can work the wire down the length, betwee the seats, up under the rear seat, and do the trunk. My install went pretty slick, and you would never know there was anything in the back until you look.

Also, I don't think you'll want to tie into the antenna wire, for there is power to the antenna only when the radio is on. If you are listening to a tape/CD, the antenna isn't energized and your amp won't be turned on. I had a hard time finding a good power-on wire for my amp, so i just replaced the whole head unit.

Lastly, line-levelers work pretty well for subs. You don't need that clear of a signal for subs, and picking off the powered speaker wires and dropping the voltage with line-levelers works well. Just mount then in a good, clean spot that won't pick up any 'noise'.

    Good luck on your install!

I'm going to look into this and maybe I'll go this route if it's easy like it sounds. Haha, thanks for the advice!! 1+

  3. Hey all!

I need help installing my amp and sub woofer. I've installed amplifiers and such tons of times and pretty well experienced about it, but i mostly worked on Toyotas and Hondas never a Lexus before. So I ran the 12V wire coming from the engine bay to the passenger side now I need help on removing the plastic part (Sorry, Can't think of the name right now..) to be able to tuck the 12V wire underneath the carpet. I've tried to pry it out but it seem stuck to the chassis and I really don't want to end up breaking anything. I'm also curious if there's a method on finding the remote wire for the head unit? I was thinking of tapping into the antenna wire so I wouldn't have to remove the head unit. I've also got a line output converter to wire up the sub woofers. This is going to be for a 1995 Lexus ES300. Any help would be great, thanks for reading!

  4. Dear All,

I was trying to fix my burnt out cluster needles. So, i disconnected the battery(neg).

next thing i know is that the alarm chirp doesn't sound when i lock / unlock my car. The Alarm/security system still active.

any idea?? is there a switch or something that flipped?? Now i have to look at the light to verify if it's lock or not.

    Please help.

there's the knob on the left side of the steering wheel.. you can try to turn that up.
