  1. I just received news that the IS-F will be at SEMA on the Proving Grounds!! I get 15 minutes to see what it's all about.. come on October 31st!!! can't wait! If anyboy else is attending the show this year be sure to register your time to try it out!! www.isfdrive.com

Roger Federrer is probably having a blast driving IS-F right now.

  2. Now that you've spray painted it take it to a body shop, it will probably have to be repainted. Don't ever do that.

It was probably just a severely marred spot that could have been buffed out.

Yeah. I just came back from a body shop just buffed out the paint for free. It's better now. I'll just wax it a little to bring out more shine. Thanks for all your inputs.

  3. I recently bought a used IS350 and there was a small patch near the door handle what seem like some patch work had been done to repair either scratchs or a dent. Anyway, that particular area is not glossy like the rest of the car. It probably needs a clear coat. I first tried clear coating can spay from my local auto part store and no luck. It still looks dull and clear coat actually made it worst. Is this something I can fix myself with another type of clear coat or should I go to body shop or detailer? It's a small area but annoying cause I see it everyday since it's right there near the driver's side handle.

  4. Four weeks ago, I bought a Lexus IS250 without navigation, put over 1,500 miles on the car and wanted to trade up to one with navigation. I called up the sales guy who sold me the car and he said that they could work something out. To make a long story short, they took the car back as if I never bought it in the first place (not a trade-in) and fully reimbursed and credited my $13,000 down towards the new IS250 with navigation. The only difference in cost to me was the upgraded package that I got.

Obviously they took a big hit on taking my car back. It's been registered so now it has to been sold as a used car. But they are at the same time going to make it back on the new package that I got... ML system and navigation. I don't know about anyone else, but I have never in my life experienced this from any car dealership period. If you're thinking of buying a Lexus, buy from a Magnussen and if you are in the Bay Area, buy from Magnussen Lexus in Fremont.

Maybe it's just me... But has this happen to anyone else????

I just recently bought a used 350 from them and kind of regret cause I should've bought a new one. If you don't mind...who was the sale person? First name only.

  5. Can someone w/ a 30 day carfax get me the report for:

    JTHBD192240092272

Also, what do people think about this CPO 2004 IS300? It drove pretty well, the interior seems to be in good condition, i do NOT believe it is a leather interior, but it has a 3 yr/100k mile Lexus warranty. Asking price is $24.5k but the salesman said he could knock off 1500, so i might be able to squeeze off $2500.

    I recently bought 06 IS350 for $32000, had 28000 miles. I could've gotton it for $30000 if I shopped around.

  6. I have the same issue, but when I took it to the dealer, the technician explained me that this is due to the new technology called "wire by throttle", which means that the computer in your car determines the amount of gas needed instead of the old system where it was controlled by the cable going from your paddle to the fuel system. It is supposed to learn your driving habbit (pressure you put on your gas paddle) and learn over time and you will feel less and less of that hesitation or whatever feeling you are experiencing.

Yep. What he said is correct. My local Lexus tech confirm it's computer controlled instead of wire, though I didn't know about the learning from driver's habit. When I first got my IS this was the annoying thing about it. The car didn't want to go when hitting gas and takes off jerky.

  7. Thanks!

Does anyone know how to remove driver's side interior door panel of 06 IS350?

You need to remove the screws holding the panel at the door handle after pulling off the cover plate. Then pull up the switch panel to remove. The door card/panel should then pull off. There are 3 or 4 long alignment pins that are prone to break if you are not carefull in pulling the panel off square, but don't worry if they do as they are just pins not clips and not essential.

    Refit is reverse of removal.
