  1. On the ES its purely a special order option, you'd have to order a car with it from Japan and wait for it to be built. It would have cost you a fortune in that you probably couldn't have negotiated as good a deal as you did on the price on a car they had to special order.

Actually the reverse is true....dealers pay interest on cars that sit on the lot. A special order doesn't cost the dealer any interest

  2. Hi folks, I am a proud new owner of a lexus es 350 with navigation (2007)

    First some questions:

    1. Is there any way I can get rid of 'please say a command after the beep' for voice activated control ? I'd prefer just the beep. If this is not possible, how does one just reduce the volume of the 'please say a command after the beep' without affected navigation volume ?

    2. I find it a liitle unusual that there is no place for me to plug in the key, or, altleast hang it in a visible place, so if I need to 'pass on the keys' to my wife, I remember it easily. What is the best practice most users do here ?

Now, here is the 'how did I do' question:

Here is what I bought: (reading from the sticker)

    Lexus ES 350 2007 (New)

    Standard features +

    rear side airbags

    full size spare tire

    high intensity discharge headlamps w/afs

Navigation system (gen 5 with Rear Camera, BT and voice activation)

    intuitive parking assistant

    premium plus package:

    perforated leather trim with memory

heated and ventilated front seats, driver power cusion

    extender, rain sensing wipers

    wood and leather steering wheel

trunk mat, cargo net, wheel locks

I got this at an out-the-door price of $39,110 (the car had 6 miles on it)

    How is the price ?

$36,076 is the invoice with everything you bought, so depending on tax, tag, title you might have done fine

  3. Hello Newbie Here

I have a offer in writing (e-mail) from Lexus dealer on new ES 350s..........mulitple cars at same price to choose from.

MSRP $39,472 my cost $36,472 which is 7.6% off MSRP

This is my second attempt to deal with Lexus dealer and I was surprised because a long time ago when I looked at Lexus 400, MSRP was selling price.

I got this price July 21 long before "The Event" summer sale going on now.

Is there a release date for the 2008. Any one know if the new model year will be discounted a lot less than what I have been offerred?

    Appreciate any input on price.

    Thanks

    firstone

You don't say what options (invoice on an ES is middle $29K) Options obviously can increase that greatly

  4. I am in the process of negotiating my LS460 black on black. sticker was 71 and change and am getting 6000$ off of sticker. But now before the closing they are adding a docking fee. Does this make sense. and extra 450 for docking. I am already paying the 750 for transportation? any help would be appreciated.

Docing fees are BS...tell them no doc or walk They are getting 3% above your price too (2% holdback and 1% Wholesale Fin Reserve)

  5.  i just joined this forum since buying a new ES350 about a month ago. we drove the car on a trip of about 900 miles total and it performed like a dream. it also performed at 33 mpg on the gas mileage which blew me away. My second car is a 2002 RX300 with 90,000 miles on it. I have read the RX forum and saw many comments about transmission problems. We have had the RX since it had 9000 miles on it and are still waiting for anything...anything...to go wrong.I had a local guy do the 90000 mile service for $900 vs $1400 lexus wanted so I think that car is set for the second 100k miles.

this is my 4th lexus . i have had 2 LS400s ....have never actually had a single problem with any of the first three we owned and will be surprised if we have any problems with the new ES350. I considered the Toyota avalon ltd as an alternative due to regular gas,but am glad i bit the bullet and bought the ES. it is just a nicer ,seemingly higher quality car all the way around...plus you get the lexus class service vs what you get at a toyota dealership...or at least that has been my experience.

What dealer did you buy from? Same for service?

  6. My local dealer has been getting all the short wheelbase models without the 19 speaker feature. The "L" models are all being delivered with the M.L. audio setup. I believe the audio upgrade was around $2,300. This is just my dealer so I can't speak for all. Obviously, the audio upgrade can be ordered on the shorter wheelbase model.

I am still holding out for the 2008 year model to see what is added/changed/improved.

    John

    The price by $500

    A new color option

The L will have an optional new air suspension and that's it

  7. I'm tired of taking my car to crappy shops. I can't seem to find a good shop around here. If there is anyone who lives in the Orlando area who knows of a very reputable Lexus shop (besides a dealership) tell me where its located and I'll put in a good word for you.

    Thanks!

I have taken all my vehicles non-lexus to (basically across from the Lesco fertlizer place) and about 5 minues from the Lexus dealership

    N & G Car Service

    2931 Forsyth Rd

    Winter Park, FL 32792

They are very honest, prices are good, and turnaround is quick. Tony and Naji (sp?) run the place
