Greetings, I am new to the forum and arrived here researching a 2002 ES300 I am/was interested in. After reading all the transmission issues with this car I am now having second thoughts on investing in the car. I am very surprised that lexus did not fix the problem after 5 years! It also seems like the problem is far too common and is not isolated to a few cars. I am most probably not going to buy the '02 ES (59k), unless there is a way to see if this car has the same issue. It almost seems like a genetic defect with the transmission. Thanks. Al
