In the last couple of weeks I've noticed the plastic door pillar on my 96 SC400 turns milky when it rains and clears when it dries leaving me to suspect it may be allowing water to penetrate at the door edge. Anyone come across this phenomenon and is there a fix?
If it persists or gets worse, I'm thinking of installing the carbon fibre pillars that MimoUSA advertise. Anyone tried them and with what results? Easy to install? Do they look as if they belong? Thanks for any feedback.
Mine were chipped and I had them repainted the factory gray. I would encourage that endeavor.
I don't believe I have ever seen faux carbon fiber look like it 'belongs' FWIW. Or the real deal for that matter. Clearly a value judgement on the part of the owner.
Thanks for that, but they actually advertise them as real not faux
Still highly suspect in regard to a buttoned up look, but good luck.
I guess. Did you have to remove the plastic before repainting? Is it plastic or acrylic or what? Does it remove easily?
Thanks again.
