  1. damn, sounds like a nightmare

    well ill disassemble everything

anyone know what type of screw i need for the black plastic part in front of the iavc?

guess im going to have to drill and tap one of the screws

hopefully i didnt overtorque any parts and cause a crack

im pretty sure lexus wouldn't produce such inferior parts that it would crack under such light pressure

hopefully it isnt anything serious cause that would suck big time

weird thing was all parts were working properly before i attempted the cleaning

    now its just gone downhill

Before you go ahead to do all sorts of things, just first reset the EFI fuse in the fusebox. Pull it out for about 30 secs and put back with engine and all accessories off. Having cleaned the IACV its now freer and lighter thus reset would help the ECM recalculate the present condition.

  2. Well ALL rules have exceptions and IMHO the 1MZFE of the 99/00 would be one for this rule. An engine as prone to sludge as this one should never be run on dino oil.

I agree with you. I changed mine to synthetic oil, and sure saw some leaks underneath the sump. But that prompted me to loosen the sump and changed the gasket. In the process I found lots of metal debris in the sump and dark oil, though I just put in a new oil;cleaned everything and new synthetic oil.No qualms for months now.

  3. Hello Everyone,

I own a 2000 RX300 that is running great except I recently moved to a warmer climate and have noticed the A/C isn't pushing out cold air. I've recently recharged the system however again, its not very cold. Does anyone have an idea's on what needs to be fixed?

Are the A/C compressors in the Lexus product weak?

I'm heading on a 2000 mile road trip next month through the SW and would like to have a solution by then. Any advise will be helpful..

You can check and change( if you haven't) the cabin a/c air filter and clean/service your a/c element.Dirty filter leads to dirty air and dirts on the a/c element thus reducing a/c efficiency.

  4. when i turn on A/C a squeaking begins and continues until u turn it off

    1999 rx 300 with 108K miles

looks like one belt on entire engine ?

and its tight as a guitar string

    any help out there?

What I did to solve that problem after searching in this forum was to raise the A/C setting.

I raised mine to 75 degrees F and it stopped the noise.

In other words, you reduce the load on the A/C preventing it from blasting at full fan speed.
