    So, let me get this right. If I replace the fuel pump, I don't have to replace the fuel pump ecu?

    just fyi I got my pump for my 93 sc400 from car quest for 68 bucks it took a total of 45 mins to put it in myself in the driveway pretty straigt forward and easy to do . make sure you have less then half a tank of gas and try not to smoke while doing it :)

  2. ok so I'm trying to replace the two ruber flower shaped pieces at bothends of my drive shaft. my question is do you know where i can buy these parts other then at lexus ? they want 160 bucks each for these and im sure someone has to make a aftermarket one thats better for around the same price. i'm not sure what the name of the part is it has holes in it for the drive shaft to bolt up to the trany at one end and the rearend at the other end.

  3. why did you hate them? was it the feel of the ride or just the look? I'm still trying to figure out what size wheels to get after I put back in the stock suspension.

    the wheels look like !Removed! im not black enough as my black roommate would say to have those wheels ...lol they felt fine and the fit was good but the rims i had look bad

  4. did the vibration only come after you installed the new wheel/tire combo? try put your old setup back on.

    if not i would think its the tranny mount.

    yea Im not sure it did it with the 20's on there but as soon as i went to a 17" it started this ? I will have the rrany mounts look at today thanks for the heads up

  5. I have a 92 sc300 which was lowered when I bought it, and it rubbed right through the wheel well and through the wiring harness that runs above the driver side wheel well. I repaired the wiring and the wheel well and put coil spacers to solve the rubbing.

    I recently bought the stock sc400 coil springs from the wrecking yard and plan to put them in this weekend. My question is will 20's fit with the stock height suspension without rubbing? Anyone have experience with this? Thanks.

    my 93 sc 400 had 20s on it when i got it i hated them so i took them off but they did fit on the stock set up

  6. Are you sure it's the fuel pump and not anything, sound sweird it would all the sudden start happening to two different pumps.

    im 100% sure its the pump making the noise. is there a restor thatruns that pump ? I double checked the wires and they are hooked up right but there is a small little black box thing that a wire runs to also in the assmb that looks like a restior maybe ?

  7. ok so I have replaced the fuel pump on my sc400 twice and both times the fuel pump sound fine at first but after driving for just a little bit it starts humming really loud I thought i may have gottin a bad one so i returned it and they gave me a new one but this one is doing the same thing? if you turn the car off it's fine again as soon as you start it but after 2-5 mins it starts that humming ? Im lost it has plenty of insulation ruber so i know it's not rubbing anything. PLEASE HELP !!

  8. That is indeed a score. Personally, I don't care for any automobile with over 200k miles so I would probably sell it for the profit. Advertise it with the wheels still on it (in the pic) though put a clause for how much more you want with wheels included.

    First I would run a car fax and see if the mileage is accurate. If you send me the VIN I will run it for you.

    just ran a car fax and the miles are wrong in 97 it had 60k on it and in 99 it had 187k ? no one in the world could drive it that far in a little less then 2 years at that point it has milege discrepency writn on the car fax . and my title has TMU on it so maybe some one switch the guages ? also i cant figure out how the fog lights turn on am i stupid i cant find a switch?

  9. The car looks clean but you will never know how good it is until it is gone over by a good mechanic or Lexus. A Lexus dealer will charge $90-110 to give it a full certification check and pull up the service history. I'd change the wheels and enjoy the car if it checks out. You have to watch for PS pump leaks and see if the timing belt and water pump were changed if it has 90,000+ mi on it as that can be an expensive service. At the purchase price you can't go wrong as the parts alone are worth much more. Keeping it just depends whether you will enjoy this car more than the one you are driving...

    I'll be the first to say I love it but I'm not sure I love it more then the $ I can get out of it :unsure: anyone know if there is a upgrade for the factory phone it works but verizon wont turn it on unless it has a gps tracker in it for 911 ?

  10. Wow dude. You're a lucky SOB. What year is it? How many miles? If you're a speed freak, you could sell it for a bunch of cash, and the the much more tuneable SC300. You could prolly get some decent cash for the 20s too.

    it's a 1993 the guage has 225k on it but i have a hard time beliving that the car has that many miles on it it's in really good shape if it realy has. and the tires are brand new toyo prox t1-s

Ok so I went to a police sale here in Cincinnati last week and bought this sc 400 it need a fuel pump and had been sitting for 3 years so a good bath was in order. after checking everything over and cleaning everything up to my amazement it all works great and the car looks great as well now do i sell it and make a bunch of $ or do I keep it and git rid of those ugly 20" wheels what do you guys think ? with the clean up and fuel pump I still have less then $1,300.00 in the whole thing.

  12. In the last week or so I installed a Bluetooth handfree system in my SC300.

    I don't know how I got along without it.

    I highly recommend this to anyone.

    Of course, I am a self proclaimed gadget freak.

    tell me how you did that ? i have the factory phone in my sc400 but it's old i was wondering about bluetooth. as my phone has that option.

Hello, I just bought a 93 sc400 at a police auction, the car was in impound for over 3 years on a drug bust thing. when i got it, it needed a fuel pump and fresh gas. so i did that and she fired right up no problem and ran pretty good for a car that sat for 3 years. i have been driving the car for about a week now with no problem other then when i come out in the morning the car has 0 compresion it spins over like the timing belt is off ? after a few mins of cranking on it it slowly gets better till it starts and runs rough for about 2 mins then everthing is fine no miss no smoke nothing it will run and start great for the rest of the day no problem then i park for the night and in the mornig we start all over with the low compresion thing again. there is no smoke coming out of the exaust no matter how hard i hit the gas it leaks nothing i did have the oil changed and that help some but it still take a few for it to be right ? any help would be great.
