  1. two words, torque converter

    Agree.

    Try this out.

Re-set the ECU(pull the battery cable for a few minutes or pull the ECU fuse) The Brain will re-learn your driving habits. As other have said turn off traction controll and put on the PWR setting. My car feels more torqey and brakes lose.

You should notice a diffreance in how the car responds.

One down fall all your presets will need to be updated(radio, seats, ect.)

    Or upgrade to a V8 j/k LOL

    Have fun

  2. Hello, Iwant to get the magnaflow mufflers but I dont know which to buy for my 98 GS400. I know a few people here have these on so if you can shed any light I would greatly appreciate. PArt number would be awesome. THanks!

Magnaflow part number 14829=nice thats what i have

Did you run new piping(catback) or new resonators?

    Any performance gains?

  3. Mass Air Flow Sensor????????

Now that I read all of the problems again this sounds like all of the symptoms.

It does happen once the car is warm and it almost feels like a trans slip. Idle is fine most of the time, harder acceleration like in 2,3,4th gears is when it happens.

The sensor tricks the brain and it thinks its getting to much air to fuel ratio so it cuts the air and it feels like the car wants to die.

You can try to clean it, or test the wires, but I think its best to replace it.

It is the compnent right next to the air filter, very easy to replace and just takes a few minutes. Un-do the two screws and disconnect the wire harness. (ps. might want to disconnect the battery) and Cost $85 and usually a core exchange of $50

Hope this helps. GOOD LUCK

I took it out a blew it out. Should I try to clean it with a liquid? If cleaning does not work, I'll replace it. Thanks for your help.

I have heard you can dip it in rubbing alcohal then let it dry. But to be honest its a pretty cheap part so its probably worth it to just get a new one. Might help with MPG as well as performance. I think they sell refurbish ones, if you buy a refurb just make sure it comes with a warranty.

  5. Bump because i am having the same problem with my driver door locks

Its your door lock acutator. Its a common problem. The price ranges from $200-250. I found one on ebay new for 40 shipped but I got lucky. You have to take the door panel off. Dont forget theres a screw behind the door open lever. Disconnect electircs I think there were 2, one for the door light and one for the window/door lock. It takes about an 1hr. Tools? I think it was just falt n philps screw drivers and a socket wrench. You do have to by a new tool its a * almost like an allen but its a star. I picked it up at autozone for a couple of bucks( just get the full set cant remember the size, sorry)

    Good luck
