All:
I cleaned the IACV a week ago and the 2000 RX300 is idling and starting well.
However, I notice that when I turn on the ignition, there is a noise comimg from near the IACV. Noise is like a small motor running. Is that normal ?
Thanks,
Amit

I am really worried. I cleaned out the IACV and my RX300 seems to be idling perfectly.
But GardenState talked about a washer sitting on the pencil size stud (magnet) which we can see once we remove the black electrical coil.
All I saw was an O-Ring when I removed the black coil.
But when I moved the car, I saw an approx 1/2 inch wavy brass washer on the floor. Is this the washer that GardenState was talking about ? How does it go on the magnet ? Just sits on the stud ?

When the black electrical coil is removed from the IACV, it exposes a small pencil sized metal stud. You will also notice a washer that sits on this stud. Don’t loose this washer. Take it and put it aside so it doesn’t fall off when you continue on in the next steps.

I am very close to buying a 2000 Lexus RX300 with 111K miles.
I was planning to get a transmission flush done. But some tell me
that it is not a good idea to get a flush done - especially if it
has never been done before. A better way is to just drain the fluid,
clean the filter and be done. But that probably replaces only 1/4 of the fluid.
I would really appreciate the list's opinion on this.

The garage door opener has a "learn" button. You need to press that. And immediately press your HomeLink button 3 times - NOT 2. Let me know if that works. Rest of the process prior to these two steps I list above are as described in the manual
