  1. Thanks....FYI is was Lexus of Northboro that let me walk, used 07 IS250. Used car mgr blew the sale because he tried to confuse me with numbers. When I called him on it, he got flustered and left. Came back, extended his hand for handshake and said they could not do the deal. Not exactly the way to negotiate on a car. We were only $1k apart!!! Guess they did not want to sell the car. Other dealers had similar cars for $1-2k less with less milage, but they would not budge........ I have my eye on one at chambers.....wish me luck....

  2. For best results to your questions, please put the year of your car in your profile. Asking why something leaks, something rattles, on an LS, GS, IS, or ES only, limits you. For example: The 90-94 LS series has a well known issue with a simple tiny black wire in the trunk, that is responsible for several strange issues "and easily fixable". Not knowing what year your car is limits the advice you'll get. Same goes for the GS, ES, IS and RX. So please go to your profile and add your year!

Sorry Mods, didn't mean to bombard the boards with this one.... But hopefully you can understand why I've done this...

Hopefully I will have a new IS to add to my profile!!

  3. I've been doing some searching online for Lexus forums and just came across this one. I'm helping my boss sell the rims/tires off of his '06 GS430. Does anyone here have some suggestions for me, as to where to post them F/S? They're on the local 'craigslist' and that's about it.

Any and all help/advice/insight would be greatly appreciated!

    Sincerely,

    Jeffrey L.

  4. Hi fellow members!! After driving my '98 ES300 for the past 3 years and keeping it running in tip-top running condition (Thanks to member support on helping with the few repairs needed) I have to say good bye to it. I just "STOLD" a 2003 ES300 with 42,000 miles, Gold in color, inside and out. Perfect condition for $14,000.00. I will be looking forward to your help when I run into problems that I need help with to keep this one running as well as the '98.

Thanks again for your help in the past.

    Congrats!

  5. I'm still pretty active over at the Mercedes forum I've haunted for about 7 years now, even though I've left that brand behind(for now). There's been alot of discussion over there lately, comparing quality and features of the major luxury brands, I.E: Benz, BMW, Audi, Jag, and Lexus mostly. Alot of those folks see Lexus as pretty much a joke, Japan's feeble effort to compete. Of course, anyone with a pulse can see Lexus has done well. But there's no convincing the dedicated Benz owners that Lexus is never going to be anything more than copy-cat wanna-bees.

I've pointed out that I see alot more ex-Benz owners here, than ex-Lexus owners over there.

So how about a bit of a roll-call?

Mercedes, but the quality was not the MB of old ??

  6. Hello,

I'm am on the verge of selling the best car I have ever driven, my 2007 IS 350.

Here's what happened yesterday. You know when your at a red light and the car in front inches up, and then you inch up? ... well, I let go of the break, inched up, and then slid a few more inches than I wanted (I didn't hit anyone, thank god). But yesterday in the snow, my car was helpless, I did NOT feel safe at all, I was driving soooo slow and I still skidded when I was stopping.

How GOOD are snow tires?? I have to drive an hour to work each day. I'm afraid to drive my lexus, so I rented a car... thinking I may sell it if I have to. What should I do?

Is Snow tires good enough? Some people also said to put weights or sand bags in the back. What should I do?? I want to get a new car this weekend or snow tires, what should I do?

Can anyone who drives (somewhat long distances) in the snow please respond. I am scared as hell to drive in the snow anymore with this car.

    HELP!? :)

    Thanks again

    Jeff.

    Get the AWD !!

I've heard so many stories about gas. As if some of the major brands are going to put inferior gas out there....Barkat speaks the truth!

Some gas brands are better than others.

Stay with the major brands !!!

  8. I currently finance a 2007 Toyota Camry. I think my best option would be to lease instead of finance, but I have a question or two. My biggest worry would be that I would have to pay for extra wear and tear. Are they very strict? If I decide to keep the vehicle after my lease term, is it hard to finance the residual? Could some of you share your lease experience. I love the IS250 and I will not be satisfied until I have it. Thanks much!

After my experience today, I would be easier to buy. Less hassle and car will last longer than lease term....
