  1. Alright, I am a bit disgruntled now.

There IS a TSB for the brake dust issue, and when my wife asks about it, the dealer says sorry, there's nothing he can do. And I'm the one stuck cleaning the damn dusty wheels.

Next time I take the car in!:angry::angry:

hmm..just took my car in today for brake noise...didnt think about the dust!...will clal them first thing in the morning!

  2. If its just built up brake dust then I would rinse out your wheels every few days to clear the brake dust. I have a issue that my brakes squeak after a few days past a cleaning.

went to the dealer today for same prob. he said there is a TSB on it and it shoudl def not do that. theyre gonna fix it for me

  3. Hi all,

I'm contemplating buying an IS350, and I'm wondering if the Mark Levinson system is worth it. I have heard the base stereo, and am quite impressed. However, as an audio enthusiast, I'm rather intrigued by what the Mark Levinson has to offer. My question - is the Mark Levinson still worth the extra cost if you have no intention of buying DVD-Audio discs? I mean, will the ML system still deliver superior sound while playing regular CD's, or is the only advantage in it's 5.1 capabilities? I think the ML system has an extra speaker and 300 watts RMS, but it doesn't really mention if the speakers are the same as the base system, etc...

    Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I went through the same dilemma when I was thinking about the M/L system. I believe that the entire system is different then the standard Lexus setup. The M/L website has much detail about the speaker sizes and materials. I would say that it is worth the extra cost in addition to the NAV features and back-up camera.

I use my system for CD and DVD-Video concerts. It does not seem like DVD-A will ever take off but it is of no concern to me.

The Acura/ELP system is considered to be the best (only?) DVD-A capable in vehicle radio. I read a report somewhere that people preferred the ELP system for DVD-A but liked the M/L system better for stereo CD recordings.

Check out the other recent discussion about the M/L system and DVD-A. It turns out that it is not fully compatible anyway. I guess that explains the preference for the Acura/ELP system.

for the little extra you pay...its def worth it.

  4. I would still like to find a DVD-A disc recorded in 192bit high resolution stereo to find out how it plays.

Hi. I'm new to the forum and am still waiting for my IS250. Next week, they tell me!!

I'm not sure if this helps or not, but have you tried Aix Records? I believe they claim true high resolution audio:

    www.aixrecords.com

Hey, thanks. AIX seems to have a really cool DVD demo disc. I have an outdated DVD demo disc for fine tuning a home A/V system. I will check this out when I get some surfing time.

thanks for all the hep guys. conclusion: DVD-A formats...a gamble. anyone try out 'Santana: Supernatural'? really wanna get that, but want to make sure its not a waste of more money. thanks.

  5. CAR: 2007 IS 350 with Mark Levinson Audio/NAV

    I own four DVD-AUDIOs' :

    1. Crystal Method- Legion of Boom

    2. Seal- Best

    3. Metallica- Black Album

    4. Beatles- Love

All these titles are either Dolby Digital or DTS capable.

I will refer to these titles as discs 1,2,3,4 in the following:

    Here is the problem:

Discs 1, 2 play in DTS or DOLBY digital. If it doesnt show up as default, all i have to do is either goto the top menu and choose the sound format as DTS or DOLBY (or) use the touchscreen and choose 'Audio' button and then change it to DTS or DOLBY digital.

.....But, Discs 3,4 start playing in stereo mode(PCM). When i goto the top menu, disc 2 has a surround playlist option, which if i choose still plays in stereo(PCM). I try the 'Audio' button in the touch screen and it shows me the 'no go' sign (red circle with \). Disc 4 doesnt have any such option in the top menu and it does the same when i try the 'Audio' button on the touchscreen.

Please help me with this problem. Does anyone own titles 3,4 and have played it successfully in 5.1 surround on the ML? Please Advice.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    no responses yet!...people help!!

  6. it looks white with some shimmers of blue...very cool

If you have the oppurtunity, I suggest checking out both the Glacier Frost and Breakwater Blue colors in person before deciding.

You if decide the Glacier is a little ~ya know~, you may like the Breakwater.

Although the wife calls it "Brokeback Mountain Blue", I still think it's a little less fem compared to the Glacier and was in fact, my color of choice.

Personally, I would never order a color without seeing it in person first.

Hop online to your closest dealers and see what they have in stock.

It may be worth the drive.

Both are very nice colors though.

i own the breakwater blue metallic. During the day it can look a lil too soft..but at night the color rocks...more silverish...but the glacier forst....at night turns pink and mmmmm if u really prefer pink...u should get it!

  7. Turn on the pink lights, the man wants to see a pink car. :D

was the car in stock when u went to the dealership....coz the dealer might have said that , coz its gonna be a pain in the xxx for him to find u one in that color. dealers can be very smart with words!....personally, i dont like the color. too girly.
